Maybe these riots will provoke some of our players to move away from london for less money...

I don't expect any big signings now, not after the embarrassment of all the rioting going on, who in there right mind would want to move to London now! I bet Rossi is thinking thank christ I didn't go there!

Diarra in, Palacios to Stoke. Isn't official, but seems like it's gonna happen 95%. Still no solid news on strikers.

Yes. We sold Palacios and signed Diarra and all the strikers you dream of. That's why there's no official announcement in sight. It's a smokescreen.

I doubt any footballer would be living anywhere near the areas that currently have rioting

I know it's all relative and all that, but I've never felt as underwhelmed by football and transfers as I do right now. Shocking scenes :-(

I can't imagine it making the slightest bit of difference to be honest. EPL footballers don't live on inner city housing estates.

Maybe I'm wrong. There's a precedent that might be instructive though. Did teams like PSG struggle to attract players after the banlieues erupted in flames?

The French like a good riot. Hasn't stopped Pastore joining PSG. Nor did the Madrid bombings stop Real signing 'galacticos' and I doubt doubt Fabregas will cite the riots as a reason to leave Arsenal.

Our ineptitude and/or our inability to pay big wages will be the reason why we fail to sign a top draw player. Nothing else.

Seems to be a general concensus judging by how quiet it appears to be in here tonight mate.
Just logged in myself hoping for some light relief from BBC News 24

Chances of the match going ahead now are very slim. Is this a good thing for us or a bad thing?
