only acceptable if we sold RK and he came in as his replacement.

-1 + 1 = 0

Even if we sold all of our current stikers it would still be unacceptable to sign Long! I'd rather give Harry Kane a go.

Nothing is going to happen until our top targets are definately unnatainable. We are in for a couple of "proper" players and do have back up options if we can't get these. Things are changing all the time in the market. What happens with the likes of Tevez, Sneider and Neymar will dictate what we end up with.

Harry only wants top drawer players that can add to the Modric, Bale and Van der Vaart level of player we have.

Laugh if you like but names like Eto'o, Kaka, Sneider, Rossi, Higuain etc are not as far out of reach as we are led to believe. The last week of the window will be one big blow out and will dwarf all other previous windows as everybody is active and this is the last window where silly money will change hands.

There is no way that will happen IMHO.
Eto'o is too good to move to such a league while he is in his pomp. Wages wont be the factor as he is surely already on well over £100k a week. And the racism he witnesses in Italy will be absolutley nothing compared to what he would personally receive in Russia.
Zhirkov has hone there, Arshavin has been linked, and they bid for Neymar (which will never happen either).
Pav is available if they want him :)

He's done the lot, so what does he have to prove at 30 yrs of age? For 20 million a year, there is no choice.

So we're waiting for the Palacios deal to be sorted. Stoke are apparently waiting for the Diarra deal to be sorted.

Well this should be fun.

1) Per Metesacker is not "garbage" or "shit". He does have limitations. He's not great on the deck and he's slow in the turn. But he's solid in the air and reads the game well. He also rarely fouls. Any assessment of him is most likely based on Werder and Ledley King (just so we understand I am not saying he's anywhere near as good as King) would look bad if he had to spend his time making up for the massive deficiencies of Proedl or Naldo. In addition, he's been saddled with a DM that played too high a line in Frings and two FB's that play like WB's. It's like Schaaf has no concept of space. The number of times I've seen Metesacker come flying out to the wings to clean up a ball dumped into the acres of space left by Panasen or Fritz, who are playing in the attacking 3rd, is shocking. And when he does this, nobody is pressing back thus leaving one of his truly poor partners to cover the box. The reason that Werder's defense is shambolic is due to the system and not Per. In fact, until last year, he was the only thing holding it together. Last year seemed to grind him down. I think that's because they started losing the possession game provided by Oezil and Diego. Without that, he was facing an impossible task. See the difference in his play when with Germany. With another competent defender in Friedrich and fullbacks that can track back and he's a good defender. Unlike attackers, defenders can't win games by themselves (94 Magath aside) and need a structure to succeed. Werder has none.

2) He wants to go to Arsenal. And you will be very sorry when does go.

who Bentley or Diarra??

If its diarra the source i get my Tottenham info from was close to the Diarra to Madrid deal.
If Bentley; why would Tottenham not agree on a fee to sell crouch, hutton and jenas for just over £15 million yet try to negotiate the deal to include David Bentley if he wants £14million for him alone?

David.

I would love to know. Were never getting that, or ever were. Hughes offered 8m two years ago. But every player has a tag next to their name and that was his. He's been offered to Blackburn now, we'll see where that goes.

He's also been offered to Malaga makes sense when you've got 3/4 businesses out there

Jeans is getting offered another contract anyhow, hence that deal feel through and they tried signing him as an individual - correct?

If the club is waiting for Palacios to move on before completing the Diarra deal I wonder if that will be the same for any striker we try to bring in. At the moment there doesn't seem to be any concrete interest in any of our misfits up front.

all as i know is that Bentley was mentioned in the deal and with how negotiations were, there would have been no way that the deal could have valued bentley as £14million.
it makes no difference anyway; £14million or £5million or anything in between. McLeish doesnt want him and moreover from the sound of it not many teams do hence why he is being offered so open.

According to a Stoke site, it the other way round. They are waiting for us to complete first

At the rate we appear to be progressing, I fully expect us go into September with no additions.

Unacceptable if that happens.
