The Game Plan is thus:

a) Find a player who earns in excess of £100,000 per week
b) chase said player for 3 months
c) finally look like doing some business
d) oh no, SHOCK HORROR... your wages are out of our wage bracket. no deal.
e) repeat this for another 12 transfer windows here after.

Any more heard on possible Bentley exit? Will free up a massive chunk of wages.... not holding out much hope but you never know

Villareal have rejected a 20m bid from Rome for Nilmar (14m plus 6 on addonns). Maybe they are holding out for our 30m bid for Rossi?? Just dreaming again!

It seems we have so many things running at the moment and in the pipeline but nothing looking close to being done.

That said I guess things can change and move quickly.

Do I sense your early/mid summer optimism turning to late summer panic/realism?

The important games at the end of last season were a shambles, and we've signed nobody with the season 3 days away. At least Harry has made a few bob doing ads for Sky.

Yes, I'm frustrated.

if the reason for not making signings is redknapp may not be here next year then whats the point in him being here and for that matter, ever buying anyone? not all managers will want certain players but you can only work for the now rather than a year or so down the line. we dont need to spunk money but it seriously undermines the manager if players arent being signed because the possible new manager may not want them

I agree with this, if Daniel doesn't want to spend money on players in case Harry isn't here well then bite the bullet and get rid of Harry.
Harry wants immediate short term success and to win things and is at spurs for differing reasons to Daniel. Ultimately they both want success but that means different things to both of them.
Daniel needs to back his manager or get rid because at the moment we are in a transfer window repetitive loop.

I don't believe for a moment that Levy is refusing to spend money because our manager may not be here in a year. This is Tottenham, in any given season it is more likely than not that our manager will not be here in a years time.

DP I think your argument may be a bit skewed, remember Harry came in just AFTER we sold Berba and Keane for £54m. That was already in the kitty.

Spot on. Anyway if we managed to sign a quality forward and Harry left, I'm sure whoever comes in is hardly going to mind.

If certain ITKs posts come to fruition, I'd be a very happy camper with Huntelaar, Diarra and Jennifer's brother. Bring it on DL.

So what's the deal with Diarra then? Have none of the ITKs shed any light on the situation?

It is beyond farcical that we are 4 days from the start of the season and we still have the same inept strikeforce. Lessons have been learnt? have they bo**ocks

Because as we all know (at least, you seem to know), buying a top-class striker is the easiest thing in the world.

Yes, I'm frustrated.

You do a bit yes

I know its not easy and the current climate isn't exactly prime conditions for a flow of activity as such but I cant believe our approach didn't alter a bit this summer.

Meh, I just feel frustrated. I get the feeling that the bottam line on deals (ins and outs) is the priority way and beyond anything else, when really a degree of latitude with deals (not wrecklessness) was required in order to address the sqaud and ultimately improve it.

Thats very speculative of me to say that because I dont know whats going on, but nevertheless its my feeling or inkling.

Hoping of course that things do move soon and we manager to make those changes and improvements but with every passing day I feel less confident.

Cant see us signing a quality forward in the last week of the window apart from Adebayor....and if it doesn't come off the mods on here will be on suicide watch

Clubs arn't going to sell their big players on the last day without replacements and if they did you would be talking about a lot more money, the irony being we want to save money by moving late....again, hmmm.

Look in the Read Only for ITK on Diarra
Apologies, was just wondering if anyone had commented on the potential hold up/collapse of the deal reported in the press - evidently not! Which could be good or bad I guess, though with the current mood it's hard to look beyond bad!

Getting concerned about this deal now as well!

Also what's happening with Wilson it seemed the other day his move to Stoke was 99.9% done now that deal has gone very quiet as well.
