well an indication of were the money is going at the very least, means something obviously.

Mr Pink, I am sure I have told you this before, but Sky bet takes bets of about a fiver. If they have a loser in their book for 100 quid, they hit the panic button and bar you from betting.

I know it doesn't mean anything significant, just that they've noticed the rumour building

I couldn't afford a fiver

Bollocks does it :)

As i've said several times now, this was always going to happen. No matter who we sign people are going to fawn over POTL, nod wisely and say a tone of religious awe that 'POTL was right all along', it's almost like watching members of a brainwashed cult or something. (The Phantom Phanboys) People actually seem to WANT to find something to fit it when all the whole Blue and Yellow saga has been is POTL having his own personal jollies at the expense of thousands of fellow Spurs fans.

The whole thing is rendered meaningless now.

We had a similar phenomenon on here three years ago, if memory serves.

And again if memory serves, I'm sure POTL announced himself to an astonished world with the revelation that a 'Spurs director' had told him Martin Jol had spoken to Newcastle about the manager's job there, which was admittedly news to all those who had been living in a cave since July 2007.

Does it seem plausible that we could sign four or five players between now and the end of the window? I'm sceptical of that happening purely because I don't think we'll be able to shift that many the other way. As it stands I reckon we've room for one signing right now, and it's one out, one in after that.

didn't think there were any hotels in Tottenham

Spurs normally use a hotel near Waltham Abbey or the Cheshunt Marriot for match days .These are the closest hotels they would use equi-distant apprx to both Chigwel and WHL.The Marriot is only a 3 star so u would have to get nearer London to get 4/5 star!

Luton is also the airport a great deal of private jets seem to fly in and out of - the Mittal's, co-owners of QPR, few instance, have their private jet based there.

The "hotel near tottenham" bit is the most implausible.

1. I believe Lass has a house in London; and even if he doesn't,
2. He would not need to stay anywhere near tottenham. He'd be out in Hertfordshire/Essec or in a central london hotel

Had a flat on Chelsea harbour and rents house to Eboue in Hampsted.

He normally stays at the Sanderson or the Grove

Edit - trying to find out where he is. What chauffeur company is it?

I know the two spurs use

As does City Airport, which is much closer, although in fairness with Luton you'd not have to circumnavigate London or much of the M25, just head South on the M1. I clearly need to get out more, don't I?

well, i guess my reply to that would be that we just let Woodie go on a free due to the fact that he hasnt played in almost 2 years so you think Levy would buy an injury-prone player for a substantial fee (£8m for example) again? No way

It's a good job it's not Levy doing the buying in this case then isn't it?

Let's think what connects those three. Could it be La Masia and the system they all learned as children (Xavi joined at age 11, Messi and Iniesta at age 12)?...a system that's evolution is worth a book on its own, but at it's most simplistic is a crossing of Michels totaalvoetbal via Cruyff with Lillo's positioning 1st philosophy via Pep. It would be folly to compare those three with any 3 players on the planet because the SYSTEM is the true star at Barcelona. Mourinho wins with whatever components he has because of THE SYSTEM (his based on the winning the battle at transition). Dortmund are successful because of the SYSTEM (based on Kloepp's dynamic high-pressing 4-1-1-3-1) and can lose Sahin without much of a blip. Villas-Boas and Solbakken will be fired because they know that they system trumps the players, but their bosses are inept and think the player are more important.

We spend the whole summer talking about who will join, when we should be talking about our system. We actually have one, believe it or not. As well we should considering we are built on the foundation of a philospher-general in Nicholson. The man was a genius in an era of geniuses such as Shankley, Revie and Busby. The fact is that everybody wants a 4-2-3-1 but Harry has a system, which is my name with pace on the wings to stretch play. It's adaptable to any two forward as long as they complement one another (which VDV made tricky as he's a fase 9 and none of our other forwards are the kind that works with such) . I don't know if you noticed, but its brilliant when it works. We need to apply the system to anybody linked, which some do with say Ade but few do with Diarra (he can't push back between the CB's). Nobody has done with Kaka because its probably not worth the effort. I think I see what Harry wants in Rossi, who might be brilliant as a false 10 off a false 9, but I can see it going tits up too. We spunk our load at inverted wingers, but it is folly and would be worthless under our system. People speak ill of Zomora, but he would work in the system. Every player should be filtered through this, yet we often just think of talent. Talent is secondary to system. An average team can win with superior tactics. A great team can lose without them

This might be my greatest post ever. Because Berglad just sent me this link from the man I consider the greatest football writer in the world.

I seriously didn't read that before posting. And Uli owes me a pint the next time I'm in Dortmund because I bet him they would win the title last year.

That's fine and fair enough. But I wouldn't have thought we'd subject him unnecessarily to Luton.

Used Luton a couple of weeks ago and other than being small it is a quick and efficient place.

Better than Gatwick or Heathrow if you just want to get on a plane and travel.
