All of the early ITK suggested that this was the case. Sadly, there's a huge chance that we'll be left with no one come the window slamming shut.

Even if it is opinion it does highlight the fact that DL is caught between a rock and a hard place as this time. Even if you ignore the huge sums of money involved both now and FFP, if you ignore Croatian midfielders with prams devoid of toys, if you ignore ground issues, picking a fight with the government over the Olympic Site & alleged tap ups from the pikey Spammers, ignore a second global recession and uncertain funding.....we STILL have a situation whereby our manager is looking like being banged up by christmas & an incoming man may not fancy our 'new' boys.

Unfortunately DL can't ignore all the above, it has to be taken into account on every descision and some of them are pretty hefty. Then we're on his back before he's even begun.........go figure.

The facts are we cannot play ball with the big boys because even if the fee is acceptable, the wages are not. We have to work really hard to get a decent player. We did well with Sandro and VDV but every deal takes forever. We could be minutes away from signing Ade, one call from Madrid call and the deal is off.

Most of the ITK is tosh. Look at POTL's last post which includes the words 'there are signings', absolute crap, if we had signed someone we would know all about it by now. ITK's are doing their best but lets be realistic they hear snippets at best. There is one exception to that rule - the rest forget it.

Not saying we won't sign anyone, but I doubt that any "deal" has been done.

Bloody hell you could cut the tension in here with a half-time hot dog.

I imagine the next few days are going to see alot of people go cake-tin crazy, spoon loony, bat-shit mental and other similar afflictions.

Next Thursday can't come fast enough. Can't believe we've actually got three games between now and then.

What else do we need?

We desperately need to sell some players, not buy even more.

We need a striker = Adebayor.

Another CM (likely to replace Wilson) would be nice = Diarra

We don't need a CB, we would be better off using players we've already bought - Bassong, Kaboul, Khumalo etc assuming that Dawson plays and neither Gallas or King are fit.
