If he was genuinely outstanding he would be on our bench by now. If he isn't and needs to be coached slowly into the first team like most of our British players then he is over-hyped. Its probably the later
It was well written and waffled! I agree with your sentiments. I watched Kane for the first time in this match and throughout the match I thought he was a waste of space! You hit it on the head when you suggested that if at 18 he cannot take criticism where others have been very mature at that age- Giggs, Owen, Lennon Huddleston etc- then he is the wrong job!I will rep you, not for agreeing but for actually bothering to read it all seeing as it came out much longer than I expected before my waffling kicked in
Having followed our club a long time I would say that over many years I have seen numerous 'home-product' players try and fail to establish themselves at Spurs. Perhaps it was because we were known as a 'buying club' thrrought the decades of the sixties and seventies, a reality that has stayed with us since those times. Chris Mcgrath, Chris Jones, Terry Gibson were three pretty low key attempts to bring forwards through by us. Perhaps Mark Falco is a more appropriate player with which to compare young Harry Kane. He attended Edith Cavell school, lived in Hackney and played for local side Fields United. Falco played for us from 1979 - 1986 scoring 98 goals. Despite making 236 Spurs appearances and being in several successful sides Falco always seem to have more to prove than most imported players. This is the danger for Kane. People look at the young bloke and assume that as a home product he won't be as good. As has been said he is only 18 and already he has a mountain to climb with many of our supporters doubting he can do it
Nice to see Harry Kane get his first goal tonight
Annoying that it was our last group game, I think all he needed was a goal to get his confidence up a bit after that penalty miss against Hearts. He would of got it against PAOK if it wasn't for that bugger on the line and his arm...
Oh ye of little faith!
Now we are out of the Europa cup it would seem fairly pointless keeping him and he should probably be loaned somewhere he can get first team football and develop/prove his worth
the hurricane got me 60 quid as I went for 4-0
