Depends who you listen to, Martin Jol said the only one Comolli was responsible for was BAE. The others he had very little involvement in.

But then Jol would, wouldn't he. He's not exactly the president of the Comolli fan club.

Fact is, regardless of his role in them, responsibility for all signings came under Comolli's remit. So he deserves some credit and some criticism for all the signings.

Post his sacking Jol was neither MR Honest or Mr Magnanimous.

Commolli does not get enough credit from Spurs supporters, Kaboul,KPB,BAE,Bale,Berba,Modric, all of those players have developed further and have excellent resale values, yes he made some mistakes, Bentley's price was inflated but i doubt he was a mistake signing.

I'm going down to Game tomorrow to get FM 2012.

One way or another Spurs will be making a signing this window, be it in real life, or in virtual reality.

The fans get accused of playing FM etc yet it's the club that appears to be playing it at the moment!

I do recall a Levy statement saying that the stadium won't affect our transfer funds, yet JJ mentioned we now have no money? hmmmm ..... where's it gone.

The next thing you know, were chasing Remy, Pato etc .... what we going to use to pay for them? a bowl of fruit?

Then in true FM style, we value our awful players at 3 times their actual value .... and wonder why we still have the 2 years later, hmmm.

Jj never said we had no money, just that we have to buy before we sell.

This is as we all know cause of our squad size. I think someone said we're gonna have a first team squad of 32-33 in the summer with loan returnees and players turning 21. That's a lot of dead wood to shift.

Must say some you.on here are hilarious, keeping me very entertained whilst bored at work.

Things must be quiet we haven't been linked to anyone (realistic targets or not) on the BBC gossip page for days.

ENIC also bought the remaining 15% of the club on Monday to give them 100% ownership of it. Think that cost them around £13m (as due to the liquidity of shares with ENIC already having 85%, the club was only valued at £90m).

I make it 30 players excluding Kane and other youth players, but including Naughton & Falque.

Caulker and Carroll are both U21.

Gomes & Cudicini are both out of contract in the sumer, which takes in back to 28 (although we'll need to directly replace one of these so back up to 29 in reality).

Ok we'll need to trim that down a little bit, but that includes players like Jenas, Bentley, Pav, GDS & Corluka who basically aren't in our first team plans anymore.

We should try and sell Pav and GDS this window though, that way we've only got three players to shift in the summer, one of whom (Corluka) should be easy to do.

I'd be surprised if we were in such a rush to sell Corluka. If we play in the CL there is more of a need for strength in depth and Corluka as a backup right back is pretty damn good. Only thing though is that he's probably going to be seeking a move, unfortuantely.

Jenas, Bentley, Naughton and Khumalo are our overage loanees.

Walker, Rose, Caulker, Carroll, Townsend and Falque are our U21 first squad players. Of those I think Caulker, Carroll and Townsend will count as U21 again next year, i.e. we get 3 more to accomodate.

Not true; the company just delisted. I still have my few thousand shares as I'm banking on ENIC selling out in the future. I'm sure that there are many other shareholders who chose to maintain their holding.

Spot on Dan. We have the current 25-man squad (including Adebayor and Alnwick) but 7 additional players who will need to be registered next season (JJ, Bentley, Naughton, Khumalo, Walker, Rose and Falque). Caulker, Townsend, Smith and Carroll will still be under 21.

We need to lose a net 7 players before the start of next season.

Lose includes loans though. And Gallas was given two years wasn't he?

I guess we can loan out any that don't make the 25 but we are going to have people like Bentley, Khumalo, JJ going on loan every season until their contract runs out!

Back to ITK... I haven't seen this one posted here

Archibald RE Milito on loan (there was a post from twitter regarding he's close to signing on loan)

I guess the obvious 7 would be: Jenas, Bentley, Khumalo, Gio, Alnwick, Naughton/Corluka and I think Gallas might retire.

Others like Pav, Bassong, Defoe, Krancjar/Pienaar, Gomes etc will need to be directly replaced.

Would remind me of the Gudjohnsen signing. A good player once and an experienced head, but definitely past his best (he's really fallen away the past 2 seasons).

They don't NEED to be registered though, only if there were squad places available would we be forced to register some of them by the FA. If we have a squad of 30 senior professionals it is our choice who to include and exclude. Sure it would be a drain on finances to have them sitting there getting paid for nothing, but it shouldn't be seen as a reason not to enhance our squad as early as possible.

Plus we can do what we've done this season and loan some of them back out again.

I really would like Milito on loan, but he's featured heavily for Inter this season with a good goal return - not sure why they'd want to loan him out, unless Tevez is going their way???

Doesn't Jenas and Bentleys contract expire soon? along with Gomes and Caudicini Thats 4 gone to trim the squad :)
