It's really a vote of no confidence from Levy if he is unwilling to offer new terms to Harry and this can only serve to cause distraction and a cloud of uncertainty over the club until the situation is resolved one way or another.

Maybe it would look like that, but I dont think Harry is negotiating from a strong position, rightly or wrongly he wanted the England job, everyone knows this. But if you want a job and dont get it this leaves you weakened at your current employers, plus there is a weight of ITK that says Harry was distracted/AWOL from Feb-May. To then come back and have my agent suggesting a new contract... wouldnt surprise me if Levy had a good old chuckle at that suggestion. Wouldnt surprise me if he left Harry to sweat it out a bit and see how we start next season.

I don't think his position is that strong either, but I reckon he thinks it is.

Yeah I think the problem is that if Harry doesn't get a new deal we have another year of uncertainty. If he does get one though will it be any less uncertain? We all know Harry would walk away should Chelsea come along or England come along. No to say I blame him - he is coming to the end of his career and the resources and chances of winning things at Chelsea are virtually instant, where at Spurs things are still in progress.

I think Harry is doing an important job at Spurs and I would want him to stay unless we could the calibre of Moyes, Ancelotti, Deschamps or Blanc.

It's a really tough stick or twist situation. I think Chelsea winning the CL really brought me back down to earth that we need stability next season as before that I was very much Redknapp out. I still think its better long term that we get someone else but looks unlikely.

If Levy offered Harry an extension now I'm pretty sure both parties would be fully expecting the duration of the deal to be seen out. It really would avoid a lot of unnecessary distraction. Problem being I don't think Levy wants to fully back him and is already thinking about his replacement, probably for next summer - I really don't like that situation.

Erm kinda off topic but i will bite. To say All US ladies are worse than London gals, is extreme. I have met women in the US that make you drool in public.

Back on topic, where the hell is the ITK today eh... do we think all is quiet until this potential HR/Levy meeting is done and dusted?

Does anyone know what time it is even due to start approx.? Could be a long morning/afternoon of speculation if it's not until later on today.

Really annoys me with 'Arry. Now that the England job isn't his he's now desperate for a contract when he would of taken the England job in a flash.

If i was a professional footballer and got the call to play for England, i would go, in a heartbeat. If i was contracted to Spurs and they told me no, i would fuck em off and play for England (regardless of how much i love spurs) as its the greatest honour, imo, to represent your country on the world stage...

Anyone holding that against Harry is nothing short of a clown!

For those of you who keeps wanting AVB, know he is arrogant and a sulk.
I think senior players will hate him...such as Ade, Mod (if he stays), King, Gallas...
Some of the Chelsea players couldn't stand him and not only the seniors.
Many think/thought his concept were irrelevant!
I think Capello, Ancelotti (Italian Managers do well in PL) Deschamps , Van Gaal or even Klopp should be considered.
No Martinez (simply hasn't won anything yet and won't be able to attract big names imo) or AVB (too many negativity infos).
I personally think we'll stick to Harry but new contract will come perhaps in December IMO.

We don't know who is going to be Chelsea's Manager yet...if I was Levy and i'm not, i would wait until CFC appoint their new manager. Where else can HR go then?

I disagree, we regularly see players put club before Country as it is no longer the pinnacle of someones career. I'm not being funny but the general standard of international football is dire, they need to set up a league system.I don't want to see England/Netherlands/Spain play San Marino as it is not competitive and a waste of time. Especially when the quality of PL and CL matches are so much higher.

VERTONGHEN VERTONGHEN WHERE ART THOU VERTONGHEN!!!!!!

Three points.

1 - This does not help reduce the post count in here.
2 - I expect you meant "wherefore art thou".
3 - "Wherefore art thou" is uttered by Juliet in exasperation at Romeo being of the House of Montague and is in fact meant as "why are you of that name", so you don't mean "why Vertoghen" as you don't really care what family he was born into, you care about his whereabouts.

So: Keep it ITK. Keep it focussed. Get your Shakespeare right.

I dont think any of us do mate, its really unsettling as a fan. I don't mind when players come and go, but the manager is a big deal. At the moment we don't really know how committed Harry is to Spurs because he seems to always spin things in the press and his interviews to make it seem like he is not overly bothered - a few years ago he talked about building something at Spurs, but since his reputation has gone up at the top level he has changed his tune.

To be fair he is just protecting himself really and you see people do it all the time in all lines of work. Still...no good for us fans or the club

I guess it was only a matter of time before the ITK Discussion morphed into one on knockers (and I don't mean the Harry-bashing variety).
