Fuck I hope not, tiki taka bores the complete **** out of me.

Always got me how brave someone must have been to say that their football was boring, I remember one commentator saying "Playing Spain is like Death by a thousand cuts".

Watched a few videos, looked up his FM attributes and now I'm convinced that 20m is a bargain, haha so typical of a modern fan. :p

And Lennon. Dawson? Carrick? Berba? Kaboul?
Is this in agreement or argument? I'm hoping it's agreement, but it doesn't read like that to me. In which case...

Lennon. Has been superb in spells, developing well before Capello destroyed his confidence by asking him to play a completely unfamiliar role (not position, role) at the WC. Hampered by injuries since, and hasn't had an unfettered run in a while.

Dawson. Was our player of the season not very long ago. Short memory?

Carrick. Man U paid us a shitload for him, so I guess he was doing okay.

Berba. See above.

Kaboul. Alongside Kompany was one of the best CBs in the EPL last season IMO.

I really hope I'm misreading your post, cos otherwise it's nuts! o_O

I'm all for a bit of possession, but it's a bit like foreplay with no penetration at times.

Just hurry up and fuck them already, as good as Xavi etc. are, 5 yard passes backwards don't impress me. I do like their work ethic though.

Best header of a ball in Europe can't get a game ffs.

Akqayid - Oscar, Moutinho, and Sig: 1, 2 or all 3? Pecking order?

IMO Moutinho is different as he's more deeper lying like Modric.

Oscar and the Sig are quite similar though.

Regarding Ledders - I heard something which sides more with POTL's version of things as opposed to some of the other ITK saying it's already decided. Not ITK by any means - more like complete and utter luck:

My boss was at a kids football tournament this weekend which King's son was also playing in. He got to meet the great man (who was apparently incredibly friendly and spoke to everyone who came to talk to him/ask for autographs etc. didn't turn one person/kid away) anyways - he did say directly to my boss that at the moment things were 50:50 as to what he's going to be doing next year in terms of if he's able to play.

So make of that what you will, unfortunately due to King's time being of a premium and my boss not being a Spurs fan, not a lot else was discussed.

OS now confirming that/what POTL said about King: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs/News/ledley-king-update.page?

Oh, hang on a minute... 1 June...?

still trying to get my haed around this 25 million figure. Oscar only sorted out contract problems etc with sao paulo/ inter in january in which inter bought his contract out for 6 million, is this correct??

on top of this we have been talking with inter for 74 years now in relation to leandro and obviously refuse to pay what they want for him with leandro admitting an official bid has only been in from us yet we are supposed to believe in the space of few months we have decided to spunk a figure grasped out of thin air 25 million on a player that cost 6 million only few months previous.

now i know players vavlues increases the better he gets but we are talking about spurs and levy here and given our previous on whol leandro deal i have absolutely no doubt that oscar wont be joining for 25 million. wud be absolutely shocked .

only way it will happen is if levy sells modric for 30 million and even then he wud be reluctant to spend half that on the player.
just dont see it myself but an exciting signing he would be , no doubt.

Indeed. It works at Barca because of Messi. That has to be the only difference because even when Villa was playing it was similar tip-tap stuff. At Barca, it's awe-inspiring to watch most of the time. Jaw-dropping.

That said, when they decided to speed things up last night, Spain were every bit as clinical. Really nice to watch. Just a shame that many games this tourney has been minutes on end of them passing it around in their own half.

Oscar and Sig are similar yeah Dan? Like Gio would be an upgrade on Hulk for Porto etc.

Yeah, ok. Similar in that they're both human, play football professionally and are both usually around midfield somewhere.

A size-able chunk of our transfer budget must surely be going on a goal keeper. Is Lloris the only one we have been linked with? And of the 3 on our books, which is most likely to be retained? I'm guessing it;s Brad unless we get a decent bid for him.
The keeper situation is ridiculous.

We have three top flight keepers. Two of which are getting on a bit, but one of which was outstanding for us at times, has obvious talent, and has been cast asunder for a few daft errors whilst playing behind an ever-changing and unreliable back four. Gomes has been exiled largely because Alan Hansen's a dick and made it part of his shtick to point and laugh at him IMO.

The guy was legendary at his last club, and Brazil's 3rd choice. We ought to be looking to sort his psychology and confidence out and get him back between the sticks, not shelling out on someone else.

People were offering H-Lo their wives at one point. Short memories, such short memories...

Can i just point out to everybody that seems to be confused that Akqayid's post says €25m not £25m for Oscar. It's pretty much bang on £20m which is not a great step up from the £17m we payed for Bentley, especially as it's highly unlikely to be paid all in one go.

Not criticising Akqayid, but most South American players' prices are quoted in $ (and are often not converted when they are quoted in £ or €).

When we bought Sandro there was talk he cost £16m; but it was actually about $16m, which was about £8m.

So tempting to give this a "dumb" rating - really, pestering JJ for info now? If he has something to post he will post it.

Bobbins, on several occasions, JJ has responded to questions I've asked. Most recently he confirmed to me on here, when asked, that Martinez wouldn't be our next manager. I didn't pester him, I asked him one simple, pretty valid, question, that might have saved us all some hassle.

It must be the kids birthday about now, didn't Leds have to come away from the Euro's early cause his missus was giving birth?

Was it 8 or 12 years ago?

and they later sold him for £8million?

doesent mean its true does it, we apparently bid £38 million for aguero, havent seen a penny of that since.

It was common knowledge at the time. Use google and you will find quotes.

Jones was sold a couple of seasons after for 8m because he never fulfilled his potential.

13m pounds for Oscar would be good business.
