So according to JJ Lloris was never on? What was all that 'duty free' shite about then?

Do you think JJ and Akqa are playing games? (I don't mean in a nasty way but to stop anyone outside the club identifying our real targets).

JJ says no Lloris
Akqa says defo Lloris

JJ says no Falcao/Leandro
Akqa says Ade, Leandro AND poss Falcao

JJ dismissed a lot of the striker links yet says the incoming striker will be better than Ade? but we've named every decent upgrade and he's dismissed them all, so who's left?

Then we're told a striker will be in place prior to the Newcastle game which is all of 2 weeks away, yet the proposed striker deal won't be completed in the next week .... So he'll have a week tops to learn our system/meet the players

Then there's the forbidden 'media'/other sources who are saying Ade is miles off due to wage demands and/or City messing us about.

And don't forget all the marvellous weeks re incoming/outgoing players that never happened

I pray to god that what they (well JJ) says that we'll have a quality striker in place come Newcastle but I hope and fear due to our track record that this window could once again be a shambles (i.e - bentley being our wing cover, defoe and what's the useless Italian called? Borriello? being our strikers).

Think of Dan Levy's head as a juicy grape, full of profit margins, disdain for buying clubs and huge seller's fees - now imagine that grape fell off the vine (in France) and browned a little and shriveled in the sun, while also picking up a little dusty hair from the baked soil it fell on - that's Aulas.

I'm more convinced than ever we're closer than ever to getting Damiao.
Anywhere in the world, JJ cryptic, its Olympics song. We're buying from Olympics.
Lock down which all of JJ Spurvert Ryan and Akqayid have referred to begins with same initials as Leandro Damiao.
AVB at Brazil hotel. Spurvert has said it was for Damiao talks.
Talk that Olympics in London might help our cause in signing players.

Oscar going to Chelsea. Moura maybe UTD bound. Sandro perhaps showing Damiao around our facilities.

So much points to us making a big move for Damiao now and I hope and think we'll pull it off.

I fully agree with you, all signs point to us signing this player in my opinion, still hopeful of an out of this world signing falcao, however think this could be our new No9, not seen much of him, is Leandro worth the hype?

Yes I'm being optimistic but I think we will sign more than 1 Brazilian. In Sandro we trust!

Totally agree with your summary mate. Can't think of a single striker I'd be happier with other than the obvious superstars. My humble opinion doesn't count for a lot, but I can't help but think he's made for us.

Oh fuck...a poster on a message board that I will never ever meet has rated something I wrote as 'Dumb'. I'll not sure I can ever recover from the spiralling abyss that this scathing attack has sent me into.

I must cut myself immediately.

FUCKS SAKE! Get a grip people.

Every time I've watched him, for Brazil and last preseason when he scored against both Barcelona and AC Milan as far as I can remember, he has been impressive. Not in the ssilky Brazilian flair style, but as a proper goal scoring cf. I'd be very pleased if we signed him.

Yep, those are my thoughts too. He's a centre-forward with great instincts - his first (?) goal yesterday was a great example of that, in exactly the right place, toe-poked it into the net. How much would we value having somebody there who could score those goals?

You were obviously bothered enough by it to write that out.

We sell rafa and AVB will have lost my support almost instantly
Hmm. Not sure why.... what if we got someone better and fitter? Not sure who, but I think we have to trust a manager's judgement, the guy's only been here a millisecond? Anyway, it may not happen - VDV has said he is happy to stay. In the end, I frankly don't get who we sell, as long as we get a better, and of course, scintillating and winning team. That's the bottom line, surely. Players are for Christmas, not for life. Or am I being dumb?:(

sorry i disagree with jjetset.
lloris will be done.

So you definitely think it will happen? Good, I rate Lloris. I know people don't seem to think that a GK is a priority but world-class goalies aren't always readily available - am worried we'll miss out if we don't go for it now and Brad can't go on forever...
