the Modric to United link surfacing as soon as PSG have signed that guy really is predictable...

I wouldn't sell to Man U even for £40m.
I'm sure Daniel Levy would though. He'll sell to anyone who offers what he wants. In the ideal world it would come from abroad, but should Modric still be here at the end of the window i'm sure a bid of £40m wherever it's from will be accepted.

Marca's reporting that Real have agreed a deal for Witsel, with Coentrao going the other way on loan too.

I can see us settling on around £30-32m & Sahin, signed, or £35-37m plus loan... I do value him higher than the difference between the two prices, as I'm sure they do, but just a gut feeling that's what we'll end up with.

On the incoming front, from the ITK list, if we did land Adebayor, Damiao, Sahin/Dembele plus maybe Lloris and a wide forward, added to Sigurdsson and Vertonghen, I would think we had significantly strengthened. I'd be happy to go into the season like that.
Fryers, and maybe Hall if he is joining, as defensive depth, plus the return from injury/exile of Jenas, Huddlestone, Dos Santos and Bentley, then throw in Smith, Caulker, Carroll, Townsend and Kane returning more experienced after loans and we are in better shape than some people think.
If we can nail those few signings I listed above, I reckon we are in for a good season.

For what it's worth, the player people are guessing about who may leave, I have a sneaking suspicion it may be Friedal. Would make sense that he may be released early if Lloris were to sign, as I'm not sure he'd be happy with a bench role, but it'd be a surprise enough to be going early to meet the criteria mentioned, established himself as first choice last season and would not have been expected to be released early.

There is no way we are going to get that kind of money mate

Maybe with PSG, Chelsea and Madrid off the board, Modric has to get his act together?

Could you imagine it! If that were to happen and then United came in for Modric, the price has just gone up -40 million minimum.

If this is the case, Luka to Man Ure got a whole lot more likely, don't know much about Witsel tbh but can he, Modric, Alonso, Khedira, Lass etc all exist in RM's centre midfield? Surely not

I don't want to sell to a British club like most but if there's no one else in the running we may not have much choice but to entertain Citeh and Man Ure unless we really are happy having him train on his jack jones whilst he picks up our wedge

If Man Ure get Modric and RVP they are gonna be formidable

I wouldn't sell Modric to United under any circumstances. Sell abroad, fight for his place at Spurs, or get dumped in the reserves. Selling our best player to United AGAIN would send out a pretty pathetic message to the rest of our players, and the fans.

I agree with you, its got to stop and I'm sick to the back teeth of it. To be honest though, I don't think United would pay 40 million so I can't see it happening.

I always forget which one is which but isn't Marca basically Real Madrid propaganda, in which case, could this be a ploy to try and force our hand to accept what they believe to be their final offer of around £30million?

Why should Lucas Moura going to PSG mean that United turn their attentions to Modric?

Lucas I believe would be replacing Nani out wide and personally, I think Man Utd have always been in the hunt for Modric.

It means earmarked funds for Moura can go towards Modric - they were never going to be able to do RVP, Moura and Modric
