People starting to doubt or trying to turn on AVB before he has even named his squad!!! How painfully predictable. God knows what's going to happen if he loses.

If pace is a requirement then I have to say I would be disappointed and Hudd is actually quiet fast the problem with him is, he is as agile as a oil tanker

Hudd is not fast at all. Particularly when it comes to the Premiership. Against all top teams I find the game passes him. Sometimes pace can be overlooked in midfield if your positional sense is strong enough eg Carrick, but even this side of Hudds game is poor and having been out injured for over a season will make his positional awareness even worse in live competitive play.

Dont get me wrong I think Hudd technically speaking is a really good footballer. Few footballers can strike the ball as well as him. Regrettably the modern prem footballer needs more than this.

It would be the first time I would start doubting AVB unless of course they are injured, I would of thought he wouldn't alienate anyone from the squad after Chelsea

There have been whisperings and rumours that both have been subject to interest from other clubs. These things might be a lot closer than we all know. Might not be any alienating in it - everyone might be happy? Unless you maybe know otherwise?

Lennon is in squad! Wow No Bentley, Hudd or Dawson! All binned from squad! #Thfc
So no slow players it seems. Maybe AVB made them race to the bus

But didn't Andre say Daws would be captain?

...Interesting
Maybe he will be captain, just not for Spurs

I've just had a thought actually, AVB is very much a stats person, which means we might end up with BC's wishes. No Dawson or Huddlestone, Jenas captain?

If, as is beginning to seem quite possible, Hudd does not figure in AVB's plans then I have to hope that we are targeting two CM's rather than just one. In Sandro and Parker we're sorted for DM, as we are for AM with Gylfi and VdV, but what of CM if Hudd's out of the picture? Obviously we have the Modric replacement to come in but I really do hope that AVB does not see Jenas as the long term primary back up in the position. Quite apart from any arguments about his quality as a player, his fitness cannot be relied upon. We would need someone else.

A certain Thomas Carroll has impressed AVB enough to get mentioned specifically...

I know. Don't I'm fearing the worst.

We must give him time.

If we were to start relying on youngsters I'd rather we had kept a hold of Luongo tbh (something I felt prior to the rave reports of his Ipswich performances incidentally). Despite a lack of first team experience I believe that he would probably be better prepared for the step up than Carroll at this point in time. Much more physically developed with a bit of everything in his game. Was very disappointed that he didn't get a decent loan move last season to show what he could do.

Have high hopes for Carroll too but still think he's about a year or so away from being able to make an impact. Hopefully I'm wrong!

Anyway, I'm probably getting off subject so...
