Stekenlenberg would be cheaper than Lloris. Decent keeper. Bojan - no idea why I think this but - has a whiff of GDS mk II about him. How has he done in Italy?

Also, does Bojan not have a buy back clause with Barca. One would have to think if he's had a good couple of seasons they'll be back in for him.

After this season Barca has to buy Bojan back, unless Roma pay another 28M euros.

He's not a traditional winger though and one would imagine it could be Rafa's place in the team that's under threat.

In any case, I'm just sceptical of paying big money for someone that hasn't exactly lit up the Ukranian League nor impressed greatly in Europe.

Exactly, and if we are going to play the same system AVB played at Chelsea, you will be seeing less and less traditional wing play...

I agree there's something not quite right about Bojan, perhaps all there is to him is a link to Barcelona, he hardly set Serie A alight last season ( though Roma did follow through with their right-to-buy option after an initial loan).

Are girls not allowed to make sex jokes?

The more shocking aspect of this at all is that females roam the intawebz. I didn't hear of this law being passed. Damn our facist gummint, forcing through laws on the QT.

Now that Ade is in the bag, Mouts is the one I want. Moutinho and I can die a happy man. Anything ohter than that will stonking.

We can vote now and everything. It's scandalous.;)

Yep, I think Mouts is the key remaining piece for me. Everybody else would be the icing on the cake but we really, really need that midfield pivot.

Ok. So what does that mean for another club interested in signing him? Do we see Roma paying that for Bojan? Based on nothing, and mired in my own ignorance of the situation, I'm going to say no. Then we are in dealing with Barca territory and I trust those underhand shitbags as much as I do Real.

Really?

So it was a loan then with an option to buy? As opposed to a sale with an option to buyback?

That was not my impression. I thought it was simply a sale to Roma, with Barca retaining the option to buyback in the following 24 months.

Moutinho for £25m seems slighty odd as I thought his reported value was £24m? Add GDS' respected value of a conservative 8m, doesn't seem like fucking Levy to me; unless it's for Hulk, Moutinho and Portos' stadium, then that's Levy-esque!

 So that's where my wife goes every election day. The lying cow said she was having an affair. You can't trust anyone these days!

Mouts depends on how ****y AVB gets imo. Levy will be as keen as a watermelon at a Baptist BBQ to pay well over £20m for him. AVB needs to throw a mini-strop to get it done.

I would guess that Rome can sell him to anybody now, but it would take at least 13M euros (Barca will have to pay that) and personally I don't think he's worth that much.

They sold him for 12M with 13M buyback clause that has to be exercised after 2013 unless Roma pay the 28M euros.

I agree that it is weird deal, but hey...we are talking about Italy here, the country with co-owning and similar bs :)

I'll take your word for it. Last I saw of him was as a bit-part player for Barca a couple of yrs back. €13m isn't outrageous in today's market but eh. You'd rather not pay that just on a punt. I think Levy would agree with you about his price.

I genuinely believe we will be getting Llorente

Although Leandro is younger its not as if Llorente is going to cost the earth and its not like he is a 30 year old.

Assuming it is between us and Juventus. Yes I understand the clout Juventus has I guess its just a natural progression for Spanish players to move to the Premiership - much more similar football at a pace they seem to enjoy.

Maybe it was both? We can multi-task you know!:p

Even when the links to Mouts seemed to have died down, there was never really any suggestion that we were looking for a similar player to fill the Modders void or any credible alternatives mooted. Which makes me think that perhaps Levy has been prepared to shell out on him for all this time but hasn't been able to resist engaging in some Levy-esque attempts at bargaining along the way.

Wiki:

On 22 July 2011 Roma bought Bojan for a fee of €12 million. The sale includes a buyback clause allowing Barcelona to resign Bojan in 2012 or 2013, although with the option of Roma paying an additional €28 million to retain the player.[17][18] He made his unofficial debut on 3 August 2011 against Vasas in Budapest.[citation needed] He scored his first goal from an assist from Daniele De Rossi for the Giallorossi against Atalanta on 1 October 2011. He made 33 league appearances for Roma in his first season with the club, scoring seven times in total.[19]
