Levy absolutely could have gotten Moutinho if he had really wanted to, and what's more he could have done it earlier. Moutinho was AVB's man (are you going to say otherwise?) and Levy did not do enough to sign him, very simple.

That said, it could be down to Zahavi too. But even with Zahavi playing hardball, short of actually refusing the deal, this deal should have happened. It NOT happening is Levy not backing AVB to the fullest extent. How can you even say otherwise? You don't need ITK to work this out.
everyone knew avb really wanted moutinho do you not think they would take advantage of that situation?

I think we've got a squad capable of playing more than one formation, with Harry if THE formation didn't work he just sat there clueless. So in that sense we have strengthened

Yup, so let's see AVB top Redknapps 4/5/4 finish and then you can fucking crow about tactics, players and clueless Managers. AVB has won something like two in the last fourteen PL games he has managed. Now as you have pointed out he has a better squad to steamroll all before him................

While VDV might be a bummer, I actually think it's pretty clever. Clear to see that he's breaking down. Persistent injuries, and he's lost much of his pace. If we kept him until Jan, his value would've halved. Being offered 10M at this stage for a 29 year old is a good deal. i really don't think he would've done much for us this year.

The real issue is not finding a replacement for modric. And this is where the dissapointment over Mouts comes in. If it didn't happen, we'll be fine. You got to keep in mind, that this guy isn't an instant panacea to the loss of modders. He's no sure thing. There is no sure thing with players who come in from a foreign league. At least with Dembele and Dempsey there's a ton of PL experience between them -- which leaves little room for doubt.

in this window we have signed impactful players in: Ade, Lloris, Vertonghen, Dembele, Dempsey and Siggurdson. Lost impactful players in Modric and VdV. All-in-all, this isn't a bad window. Not at all.

At the end of last season we had four world class players. Now two have been sold and one has retired. How anyone can think this transfer window has been anything other than a total fuck up is beyond me. Still, it's not all bad. We've cemented our place at the top of the balance sheet league, eh Danny boy?

We would all like Moutinho but every player has to have a price and for us it was perhaps to high. I actually think the players we have brought in are really good and I will support them no matter what... We are still strong and maybe a more effective team. Give them a chance.

Sorry guys but i have a bad feeling about this season we are going to struggle, i'm just hoping we can get in the top 6 for a europa place, as i just can not see us gaining a top 4 place, no chance, levy took a gamble and it's back fired, leaving it always to the last day is so careless, and he never learns!

#Spurs have missed out on Moutinho, would have taken something special to pull that out of the bag so late on.

And that...is it.

Nice job, Levy. Could have just paid him an extra 10k a week or something. Nope.

If that is true, and it was for the sake of 10k per week, the board have really f*cked up a great opportunity here.

Was the rating system changed to shut up whiny bitches or to speed up the site?
It's to stop people having something bad to remember other members by when they've been behaving like tits towards each other, I should think.

I had to leave any news a few hours ago. Then we were told that Lloris and Moutinho were 'done' and we had had an offer accepted for Llorente (who I didn't think we'd get). I come back to find that Lloris is done and we've signed Clint Dempsey (!). I've checked the ITK and ITK stream threads and there's nothing there.

Can somebody tell me what happened?

I am still trying to figure out what our 'Special Partnership' with Real Madrid got us. Estaban Granero went to QPR for 8 million and their sniffing around Christian Ceballos will probably mean he ends up there in the not too distant future.

To be fair, I'm pretty happy with the signings we have bought in. Yes a couple more like Bently, Jenas and the likes off of the wage bill would have been nice. But a star Keeper, Defender, proven PL midfielders and Striker (so spine of the team) all seems like great business to me.

Add to that up and coming talent like Caulker, Walker and Sandro and I'm as happy as I've been for a while. Remember also, this is Tottenham and I wouldn't be surprised to see "Moutinho signs" in the news tomorrow.

In Levy we trust. COYS...
