just wait for the outrage once we confirm that Dempsey is no.10!!!!!! haha
i'm positive - Modric was always going and we've got one of the most impressive c.mids of the past year in to replace him
and while i was a huge VDV fan i can accept the fact that he was injury prone and let's not forget he decided to move for family reasons - for him you can argue we've got Sig and Dempsey. i just hope AVB is happy enought with what he has got to work with
surely we've squeezed some other players out on loan like Bentley and it'll emerge shortly!! please

You dont think Freidel, Caulker, Gallas, Parker, Livermore, Lennon and Defoe is enough depth? Many of these players would slot straight into most PL sides. And for once we have 2 good impact subs

The most important recruit going forward will be an all new scouting network. We can't keep relying on these late deadline day signings to try and grab a steal. We need to scout for realistic targets. The trouble with AVBs targets (Willian, Moutinho, Hulk) is they're all out of our reach. We have to find these players before their value goes through the roof.
It's time to stop chasing these big money signings and discover young hidden talent.

If we had signed Moutinho I think everyone would be jumping around on here. Shame. Still folks we have a top 4 squad.
Very few marque signings out there. No clubs apart from Utd with Van Persie signed a world class player. Even City - did they do any better business than us? Sinclair, Maicon??

Mainly agree but think we're better in defence with Naughton and Caulker replacing Corluka and Bassong (Nelson was cover for Bassong). Up front Ade and Dempsey on perms an upgrade on Saha and Ade on temp basis, plus new deal for JD. Also Dempsey can play attacking midfield and Dembele up front, so whilst thinner in midfield we're slightly weaker at worst.

I completely made up the 10k per week figure, but would you really be surprised? I mean at this stage of negotations, after three months of talks, would you really expect there to be a particularly large discrepancy?

There is and when people say we lost Modric I think we only had about 66% of him last season .
