That extension was just bullshit imo. Gives the board a reason to tell us we were so close but just run out of time. If it's true we did run out of time like is claimed then someone at the club needs shooting for incompetence!

I'm not complaining about the window though. Think the Lloris signing is possibly the best we've made since VDV (or maybe Ade but a transfer that started with a loan just doesn't have the same feel to it.).

I'm warming up to Clint Dempsey now. I think he can be a great squad player for us. Also, we've got Sigurdsson in, and a great goalkeeper in Lloris. Solid replacement for King in Vertonghen. Dembele looks like a very talented player too.

.. Who am I kidding, Modric and VDV gone WITHOUT ANY REPLACEMENTS BROUGHT IN WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

I think I need prozac.

We swapped a goalscoring midfielder that can't run for a goalscoring midfielder that can and made £4m - Problem?
Yes one is very close to being world class and the other is no where near it (pssst the one who is close to world class is the one we sold)

VDV>Sig
Mod>Dembele

Don't really know where Dempsey fits in to be honest.

I think we are all in agreement that we are weaker than last season.

What the hell is going on!

Not happy
Disagree,

Llroris > Friedel
Vert > King (Considering his injuries etc current standard)
Dempsey > Pav, Saha, etc

Signed Ade perm, I think Sig and Dem won't be as bad as you think, and having a player to last 90 mins every week although playing worse, might benefit us as a whole, I loved VDV but we might not be as worse off as expected without him.

Bale and Walker and Sandro will also just get better. I would say we're stronger even though NO one will agree. Last year Modric fucked off in too many games and didn't want to be here, and rotation made us weaker (lack of) so with rotation we'll be stronger

Anyone else thinking Everton possibly end up 4th?

Big chance to overtake Arsenal........but once again....we are same old spurs

Good shout actually. Liverpool, Arsenal and ourselves have all underwhelmed this window, and we've all lost considerable first team talent. Everton have made a couple of sensible signings but most importantly they have maintained continuity in retaining the bulk of their first team. They should be licking their lips now. Real opportunity for them I think. I'd put Newcastle in the same boat as well.

You guys make it really unpleasant to be here on deadline day i'm afraid, it's not a fun atmosphere, you're telling me that because we didnt sign Moutinho, all the other signings are now rubbish? but if we signed Moutinho, they're all gonna be amazing and we had a great window right? so predictable, and so immature, we're ALL disappointed we didnt sign Moutinho, but to imply now that the window hasnt been a good one just because of one player is embarrasing, at WORST we are the same as last season, which hey we didnt do too bad then did we? and at best Dembele looks class, and can play 90 mins, Lloris is world class, Vertonghen is better than King was at the end of his career unfortunately, Dempsey had a blinder of a season, and we got Ade permanently, some people just can never be pleased. Whats even more hilarious are the people that think Levy decided to look at his fingernails until today then decide to go for Moutinho, MAYBE just maybe it wasnt feasible before hand? and maybe, horror of horrors, it's not OUR fault we didnt get him? perhaps there was issues not related to us, which have been alluded to even? yes i'm disappointed we didnt get Moutinho, like everyone else, but it's like i've come into a window where we've signed Fred from the sunday pub team and his mate Steve, ok I feel better now, and i'll be cheering on the football team I support tomorrow like always, like you all will be once you've put your toys back in the pram
