Not at all.
Trying to get the exact real story about why it fell over and i was told it was done by someone who would know whether it was done or not!
I'm as gutted as the next fan that it fell over but i do believe we did well this window.
Shame about Rafa but as said all along it was about his family so no point getting upset or saying we forced him out etc
Great moves getting Dembele and Lloris in too!
Daniel will never change and anyone else done a deal or been responsible for a deal for over a million pounds before?
we dont have the funds of city and Chelsea and i didnt see any other top clubs buying lots of players.

And what was the strategy? You told me no Dembele and then two days later........

Is DL backing AVB ?

Thanks for that JJ. Pretty fucked up but no more Peculiar or frustrating than the Corluka signing or Arshavin fiasco.

I've found it odd that no ITK or levy or AVB have definitively offered closure on the window. Even a Tweet from the club saying "transfer window has closed and were delighted to welcome x, y, z..." I'd have expected by now.

Its sometimes more sensible to find the objective view of how things went from neutral observers. Generally the media seem to think we have managed to improve our squad even while losing our best players. It's hard to argue with that, especially looking at how we want to play.

I just don't think this argument stacks up buddy.

Modric, Kranjcar, Gio, VDV, Corluka, Bassong etc all sold for cash money. We got rid of a manager who finished 4th for a new one and I was happy, but the key was to back him. You could say he has been backed, but IMO not enough. I understand we're not Citsea, but I expected a good net spend for a new manager who is a massive risk in this league.

Now we have a squad full of decent players, lost a few outstandings and haven't even got players you can see comfortably playing AVB's 4-3-3. It's almost Ramos-esq.

I didn't see too many clubs selling 40m worth of their best players either by the way.
t
Er...Arsenal. Anyway I`m not too bothered about others. There is no escaping the fact we lost two of our best players in VDV (family reasons) & Modric (wanted out). But we have signed proven PL quality in Dembele, who will be a star and Dempsey who is a genuine goal threat. We also have a world class keeper, Ade on a perm, a top quality defender in Verts and Sigurdson who imo will also be a huge talent for us. Gutted about Moutinho, but you can`t miss what you never had. I`ll still be supporting the team with every sinue this season...COYS!!!

For me, it was the best window in a long time! We signed a new manager and six (SIX!) players. Yes, we lost three stars - King, Modric and VDV. Not much to do about that since they did not want stay with us (that is Modric, Sylvia and Ledley's knee...)!

Still absolutely gutted about Moutinho, would have been chuffed with this window had we made an extra effort to sign him but it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth that we havent got him.

6 signings and I would wager maybe only 1 was AVBs choice, that cant be good. Il reserve judgment and see how we get on but I think we will really struggle to create anything now.

No outright no.9 or no.10 in the side now, alarm bells ringing im afraid.

So we sold our 2 most creative players, against our will admittedly, didn't spend a penny of our own cash (only money we recouped) and failed to get our new managers number 1 target that even though we had 2 and a half months to do so.

Wtf is it with THFC and undermining our managers? Give the flippin manager who he wants! Why go to all the flippin effort of sacking HR, his back room team and selling the old guard then not fully back the new man?

AVB spoke openly about wanting JM and Willian yet we failed to deliver. The media already have it in for AVB and now we have given them more bullets to shoot him with by failing to get him the players he wants. To say I am gutted this morning would be a understatement.

-oh sorry daniel , we messed up , we didnt send the paper wprk through to the portugese FA on time.
I guess youll want him in January though?

- ill give you 8 million for him

-sigh....

so no we wont be signing him or anyone esle good in january.
the days of VDV and Modders will be fondly remembered like the days of gazza and liniker. but wont be repeated for another 20 years.
no guile or craft in the side anymore and its dam depressing.

These kind of posts are just monotonous!

We're now fucked for 20 years because we missed out on 1 fuckin player!

Can't lie a little disappointed overall, transfers in are great but just worried we lost too much creativity in midfield. Hopefully i'm proven wrong. Window is closed so no point in thinking what could have been. I'm going to be 100% behind whatever 11 we put out even Jenas and Bentley :) COYS

I really think Dempsey was a last minute thought. I like him, always have, but would Defoe have signed a 3 year contract extension knowing Clint was on the way? Not sure that he would.

Are you going to the pub for the match later? I could use a beer with a Dembele/Sigurdsson/Vertonghen treble.

Am i right in thinking we can loan players to lower leagues after the window closes, if so we still may be able to offload bentley and jenas!

We barely got enough players for 2 teams. They will stay until January

Contract just means we get a good fee mate. Good work by Levy to be fair.

Arrrrg - it was so close to a great window and Levy fest

I get your frustration sunnyd, but we don`t know what happened with Moutinho or Willian, two players the manager obviously wanted. Just bear in mind that when AVB was at Chelsea, even they couldn`t conclude deals with either Porto or Shaktar for the same players. Maybe we could have pushed the boat out a bit further, I honestly don`t know, but Levy runs our club financially very well and yes maybe sometimes at the expense of our playing squad, but we have a new stadium to consider, if Levy can deliver that, I will be delighted, and maybe then we can really start to compete financially.

Still dev'od about VDV leaving. Feels like he left without saying goodbye :(

Also upset we didn't Mouts but not the end of the world. He may have taken a few months to get used to the EPL anyway and if we need him in Jan then we have another crack.

I am feeling positive about our new signings to make an impact and hit the ground running. Dembele and Dempsey know each others game and add a bit more steel to a team that looked f*cking soft when WBA were peppering our goal last week in the 2nd half. I can see Dempsey scoring a few goals of his bonce and everyone warming to him pretty soon. Dembele will be an instant favourite, I honestly think he can be our most influential player this year and will go perfectly next to Parker or Sandro.

We prob couldn't have got a better keep than Lloris and needed to upgrade on the statue. Hopefully he comes straight into the team and has a good first game. I am most excited to see him play out of all our new signings.

I'm pretty confident we will beat Norwich by a few goals. I expect Holt to cause a few issues, but we will be to strong at home for them. 3-1
