Wonderful effort from most of the boys. Played with pride and determination.

As far Ade, bad penalty but didn't have the worst game.

Biggest mistake was playing Brad. Decent keeper in our time but should not be playing in the quarter final of European competition.

Could of done with Lloris in goal for the Pens... Something about him that I reckon would of worked. Taking nothing away from Brad though who didn't really do anything wrong. Perhaps the first goal was soft as he could of tried to catch it but if he is going to parry it, try to do so in the direction you're diving in and try to get it upwards. But I am not a keeper so i may be wrong.

Sums up our current team really. Lots of heart but lacking in squad depth. Did well to get to pens but honestly I think they were better team over two legs. Four games in a row conceding from set pieces. We concede far too many goals as a result of individual errors. Not much Andre can do about that on the training ground. Will we ever win a pen shoot out again? 19 years since the last one.

Can't fault Friedel.

What game were you watching? His positioning for the first goal was awful and for the second goal he should have come and claimed the ball before they got the corner. His time is up and I'm so pissed off we have to go through another season of his shit. He is such a liability it's actually quite alarming. You can see that not one of our defenders have any confidence in him and it's no wonder why he's kept one clean sheet all season. I don't know about anyone else but I has absolutely no confidence in him saving any penalties at all.

Our backup goalie needs to be of a similar style to Lloris'.

He's a lovely guy and all but his time is up and I think it's a joke that we're keeping him on as a player. If Lloris had played this tie then we would still be in the competition.

But everyone will still get on Ade's back even though he ran his heart out tonight. Ade's in the team to score goals and fair play he hasn't really done that. But Friedel is a joke.

So to put it bluntly, I disagree. I would say Friedel is partly to blame for the reason why we aren't in the competition anymore. But AVB is more to blame for this GK rotation shit and playing him.

Well another disappointing end to another season. What can we look forward to now in the closing weeks? Trying to win the top 4 medal? Worth nothing for us fans, a lot of people have been suckered into thinking that top 4 matters, it only matters for the people who make money from our club. I'd rather be in a competition we can win rather than a cash grab tournament.

Ade always usually places his pens why did he change?

Probably bottled out not wanting to take one cos normally he would be first up anyway.

I'm not gonna talk negatives, I just wanna say well done to Daws, Walker, Holtby, Carroll (superb), Gylfi, and even Dempsey..

A nice mention to Brad too, hope he becomes part of our coaching staff, this may have been his last game.

Now we move on, we get lots of rest, and Lennon and hopefully Bale will be back soon.

COYS.. I'm gutted, but we go marching on.

It will only be acceptable if we pull off top 4. If we look back at the season and finish 5th and have crashed out of the cups; it will be very hard to take.

I was always in the top 4 camp over pushing the EL but I got caught up in the game today and it hurt going out on pens

Some of you really need to re evaluate your lives.

Seriously, it's pathetic in these threads at times. 10 men, long night, tough opposition and we go to pens. Huddlestone steps up and everyone says well done, very brave. Siggy, good penalty, very brave. Adebayor misses and the reaction from some of you is absolutely disgusting.

Yes he hasn't had a great season, yes he's played poorly a lot lately. However the sheer amount of abuse, swearing and just general small minded abuse is ridiculous. The moron who said "fuck off and die", my god I hope you haven't got children because I hate to think how you would be raising them if that's the absolute best you come out with.

Some players get backed and some get criticised. I get it, Ade's been poor all season but calling him every name under the sun and wishing death on him is really going to help turn him around isn't it. Oh, and no before anyone says it, no it isnt "being passionate" it isnt "wanting the best for the team" and it isn't "just frustration" it's pathetic small mindedness and the exact reason that a lot of other clubs fans take digs at us for the stupid attitude of a section of our fans.

Support the club, support the players. If they play badly then by all means say so, criticise all you want but hopefully some of the people in this thread tonight will have a long hard look at their posts agin tomorrow because a minority of people here have been an absolute embarrassment to the club with their comments tonight.

Can't post anything other than swearing and wishes of death, go somewhere else, theres plenty of other forums for you to go and act a moron on.

I'd give you 10 winner ratings if i could

Gutted for the lads. Worked their hearts out. Fuck adebayor. Im more pissed at the pass he never played to Sig when we had our only break of extra time. Could have sunk them there and then and the **** never got his head up

He should have passed, yes, but Sigurdsson would have been on the corner of the penalty area with two or three defenders back. Not the most clear cut of chances.

I'm more pissed off about the offside given when Adebayor was put through one on one when clearly onside.

I have never ever seen a club as mentally weak as ours. It's pathetic. I still love you though Tottenham

I disagreed with you Gardham because we've had to really dig deep to get to this stage in the competition; ground out the group stages, scored late away to Lyon when they parked the bus, held on in the San Siro when we lost our 3 goal advantage, took it to penalties away in Basel when we were down to 10 men.

Would the Tottenham sides of the 90s or early noughties have done that? Would they fuck.

You can blame the team for a lack of ability (and I'd agree) but you can't blame them for mental weakness.
