I don't think he believes half of what he says but he has to say it as it's part of his job. His mission will be to get as many pissed off spurs fans calling into the show as possible.

Exactly (and well read )

He'll get a small sample of Spurs Morons (sorry 'fans') saying AVB has to go, or other such bullshit and then use this for the foreseeable as fact that Spurs fans (or the majority) no longer want AVB.

100% this, it's good value listening to irate Tottenham fans that take him seriously though

I don't really see how he can blame AVB at all. I see the argument like this (like most rational yids)

We lost 3 great players (King, VDV, Modric) that would make any team/squad weaker

Once you accept that we have a worse team than last year then you look at the position and the points tally we have received in the last year of 2.

The fact we got more points with a weaker squad proves that AVB has done a great job.

The stupid thing is that all year he has been saying there is nothing between us and the goons from a player point of view but now we have finished below them he changes his tune and says that this ihe wrost Arsenal team under AW but he ignores the fact that our squad is not as strong

Very true but it does make me cringe when you hear stupid spurs fans calling in. I just think "Why are you doing this to yourself"

Part of me would love someone with half a fucking brain to call in (it does happen sometimes) and just tear him to pieces

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

When Durham eventually gets his head kicked in by an outraged football fan (hopefully not of Spurs) I'll eagerly await the statement from his publicist to see if they can keep a straight face whilst saying anything other than,

'Well... he had it coming'.

I must admit I still sometimes listen to him (usually depends on whether Simon Mayo is off Radio 2) but he seems to be worse when he has his regular partner of Goughie next to him. Listening to Goughie trying to think out loud is like watchiing a dog chase his own tail. The fella is a moron, but thats what Durham needs next to him because anyone intelligent would trip him up on a regular basis.

What annoys me about Darren Gough is that he calls himself a Spurs fan yet his club knowledge is non-existent, doesn't seem to know a thing about the ins and outs, talks about Bale as though he has him on speed dial and seems to watch one match a year

Durham is very good at his job, he's paid to be a wind up merchant on Drive and does it to a tee with the help of his phone ops selecting the batshit crazy fans that make RichSpur look pragmatic and optimistic.
I think the guy is actually better reflected on whatever they call the Saturday afternoon show where he is paid to be insightful and evenhanded, you get the Romford Pele adding the stupidity there.

Peterborough got relegated on his birthday, which I thought was quite funny.

Ignore him, he's a knuckle dragging troglodyte who only serves to stir the pot of idiots.

This.

His sole purpose is to wind people up and get irate people ringing in. (as they're the best ones to make look stupid)
The fact is, that anyone with any reasonable amount of sense would not put any stock into what this shock jock says let alone phone up while emotions are high just to get smacked down.

He probably doesn't believe half the shite he spouts.

Definitely

He's a salesman, and he's selling controversy

He'll say whatever he needs to to get a sale

It does say a lot about the banal level of debate we have in this country about football than idiotic dimwits like him get a platform, that's the thing we should be dismayed at isn't it, that a pub bore can get us worked up into a froth.

This is why I like pundits like Neville and Collymore, yes sometimes I think they bark up the wrong tree, sometimes spectacularly, but what they do is actually instigate a level of debate which isn't so mind numbingly inane.

If Durham stopped being Durham he would be out of a job

Comedy gold. Really is worth a listen. Goughy and Ad going mental at each other. Just a shame we have Gough fighting our corner

I thought he got that very wrong but then I wondered:

Verts
Lloris
Dembele
Dempsey
Ade
Sig

How much did they all come up to?

He would have a point if we spent £50m while keeping Modric and VDV, fact is we used the money from their sales to fund the purchase of 6 new players. It all comes back to the argument of whether we are strongert than last year or not.

Huh? He's a Barnsley fan.

Spurs are his 'Premiership team' - which automatically means he knows fuck all about the game. You either support your hometown club, or you don't. You can't do both, unless you aren't a proper fan.
