wpd, I have a funny feeling that we've got Villa signed up and he/THFC are just keeping it quiet so that he can concentrate on his International football, without the press battering him about his decision to join the mighty THFC

Haven't seen MD or Marca linking him with any German clubs, it would be an interesting twist though.
I am biased but I still think that Spurs offers Villa the best chance of a World Cup place, he'll get a lot of games in a far more competitive league. Marca will be all over us like a rash anyway, doing a week by week analysis on Bale and attaching himself to that star will maintain a very high rate of exposure in Spain, far more so than slumming it with Santa and Nacho cheese down in Ashburton Grove

so, as others have stated before, we are assuming that he's fallen out with the Barca players on a personal level rather than being annoyed at being played wide? Because he'll be played out wide for us. Don't know if he operated similar position before joining Barca?
I suppose if his motivation is to get into the Spanish WC squad, then he'd ideally want to play in a similar formation to best show he can perform the job. And as Spain play no strikers, much like Barca, then maybe he is happy to play as a roaming wide man?

Well if he is honestly waiting on a German club to offer that, then we're in the mix. Other than Bayern, nobody can afford such wage demands and Schalke is the only one that might pay it despite not being able to afford it. And I don't think Bayern need him. Maybe Pep will want him....not sure.
So that's not as bad as people might think.

Not that he needs me to, but i'm gonna stick up for Bear here, I don't think he was calling him a liar, it's that fact that wpd didn't want his info in the read only, Bear was just asking if it was something that he's read rahther than ITK, as why would he not want it in the RO?
Anyway, as I said, Bear doesn't need me to stick up for him so I shall just leave it at that.

That's how I see it too. If we don't have him agreed by now a good Confed. cup means the big sharks will circle him. Our best bet is that he has a mediocre impact in that competition.

He has fell out with Messi but main reason for leaving is Neymar coming in. He has played the lone man role for Valencia but for spain always played off Torres to the left side until Torres was dropped than a lone man role but mainly coming from the left

I still don't think Villa is a likely Wenger or Levy signing at his age, with the fee being quoted and the likely wages combined. I think we may have expressed interest and made an offer, but I think this will play out a bit longer and see Villa going to one of the clubs in a 'lesser' league on big money - France, Russia, Turkey, or even as has been said by others maybe Germany.
