I thought he was going to cost money? Are they letting him go for free? Or am I misunderstanding this

Sounds like utter horse shit from Balague again to me. Villa could have gone to Arsenal on a four-year deal in January? Really? four-year deal for a 31 year-old? Hmm....

If he went to Arsenal he would of got a 3 and half year deal, now that he is leaving in the summer offering him a 3 year deal is the exactly the same as offering a 4 season deal in january.

I'd be surprised if Arsenal offered more than two years with an option for a third. I think we'd be likely to offer him something similar, maybe three with an option to a fourth?

Hearing it is 2 years plus a option to extend of 1 year. He is waiting till after cup as a gd performance could get him a better deal.

Probably not the thread, time, Mod to be replying to, or place for this, but can we all please snap out of this doom-laden view of our club?

Crouch (fucking Crouch!) got the winner away to City when we all thought we had little chance of 4th that season. We beat Inter (the then holders of the Champions League) at the Lane in the CL. We beat Milan at the San Siro thanks to a goal from Crouch (fuckety fuck Crouch!). We signed Sandro. We signed VDV. We've got Bale. We signed Lloris. We replaced King with Vertonghen, who is one of the best possible replacements available. We beat United at Old Trafford.

Yes a lot of stuff doesn't go our way, but we've had some pretty significant successes in recent years.

And we can pick up Crouch quite cheap now I would imagine.

I guess the interesting question from this is that is he looking for a better deal from us, or just in general from anyone who is currently interested? Hopefully it's just to potentially improve the deal he's already set his mind on, as long as it's ours of course :)

I havnt heard anymore about it apart from what i have said.

But IMO i think he is waiting for a better deal from any club interested. Arsenal are offering less than us and i cant see us offering more than 90k? I think he is hoping for a german club or a club willing to offer him more like 120k and CL.
