Sometimes I get fed up with hearing or seeing gratuitous insults aimed at a particular individual or section of society for no other reason than the person making the comment thinks that it's 'cool' or funny. It's juvenile, it's ignorant, and it stems from the same 'I'm better than you' attitude from which all other prejudices emanate. It's particularly offensive when these comments appear, and are endorsed, on a non-political site which is as generally excellent as SC.Spud, are you on a wind up or is this genuinely offending you to the core?
It also reminds me that I am on thin ice when I think of Chelsea fans as neanderthals because I clearly share a football allegiance with a fair few of them here.
So no, I'm not on a wind-up.
So that obviously makes it all right. Bigotry is fine if there is an excuse to use it, however tenuous and inaccurate.I like Hudd as a player (wish he'd hit the target more often but beggars can't be choosers) but you cannot deny that he is an absolute man mountain. No, it's not fat, he's a hulking brute of a man but has also invited these comments through things like the comments over liking McDonalds and complaining when the ketchup was removed from the canteen!
