Fryers is a better cb option than Livermore also
Based on 2 games - 1 ?
Fryers got the nod for the second game as he is a leftie.

Not saying he isnt the better long term prospect as aCB, but you cant judge on 2 games of one payer over 1 game from the other

I just can figure out why Bale is so desperate to leave now, he has only really had one season of consistently fantastic football due in no small part to AVB. He has the next 5/6 years to play in Spain if that's what he wants but why not stay for one more year and carry on the good work from last season. He will never be given the freedom at RM he will be allowed here. I understand the desire to play for one of the best clubs in the world but he's only 24, why rush out the door. And I'm not even going to mention all the family ties. I guess at least it's not Man U he wants to move to. I guess it's just sad as after a lot of talk at the end of last season about new contracts and the players we have been bringing in I almost managed to convince myself he would be staying long term. Now I need an update about Lamela and Vlad to cheer me up, was so happy when the goat mentioned those two.

This is all to do with REAL with the now or never bullshit they've been telling him. He was more than happy to stay another year, but now he is worried it could be a once in a lifetime offer...

From Sky Sports:

The Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale transfer sagas have been two of the stories of the summer and now reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid have turned their attention from Tottenham’s Welsh star to Liverpool’s Uruguayan. Bale has been tipped to make a world-record move to the Bernabeu but it is thought that the asking price is too high and Sport now claims that Real consider Suarez a more realistic option. Liverpool have repeatedly stressed that he is not for sale but there remains a stand-off and Brendan Rodgers has insisted there can be no solution while he refuses to apologise.

Although they usually talk BS...you just hope this time round it's true! Bale stays, and Suarez doesn't go to gooners... It's the dream I have every night!!

Many thanks guys, you're triffic top top chaps but please only give what you can afford and when you can afford it.

You've made me moist and semi erect at the same time. And that's no mean feat, the last time that happened, Oddie was tickling my bum with a feather plucked from a Swan's vadge at dawn whilst it still had dewdrops on it. At least he told me they were dewdrops.
Spondulicks donated from another ITK addict. Thanks for the most entertaining, informative and addictive place to come for my daily fix. Couldn't have survived the TW without SC.

If Ade is leaving then we MUST be going for another striker - just Soldado and Defoe for a season would be too dicey and we no longer have Dempsey to play as a 'utility' striker'.

Dare I mention the 'D' word as a likely candidate?!

D as in Dempsey?

You won't get a much better backup player than Livermore. A proper club man who won't put up a fuss when hes not playing. A lot of fans are very harsh on him. Very hard to play to your full ability when your not getting regular 90 minutes - Loan move would be good.

I definitely agree with this to a degree. We are finding out with the likes of Caulker, Townsend and Rose that we simply aren't Man Utd or Chelsea where we have the trophy count or massive wages to be able to keep all good players as depth/rotation and have them happy with approx 20 appearances a season. If Livermore is happy to be this, then that is something to consider although it seems that Hudd has also gone this way in the past year or two.

Surely Bale would realise that if he has another season like he just has, Real would be just as keen to sign him next season. I don't understand all this now or never stuff.

This is a scenario many of us have speculated on recently. Cheaper for Real, a better fit for their team right now (and he's a prick, just like them) and easier to sign. If they are interested in building a balanced team, he suits them more than Bale does for the coming season (that changes if Ronaldo goes...)

Rodgers sounds like a teacher there. No playtime until you say sorry. Stand in the corner or i'll put your name in one of the envelopes... and no more biting, ok? big boys use their words, not their teeth.

Ok sir, sorry. Can I leave now?

Maybe he loves Spurs and doesn't want to leave?

Funny how loyalty is only a one way street. We're so quick to want a player gone regardless of their wishes and moan like children when a player tries to force a move out

Yes he probably does, and I said as much.

Loyalty does not exist in football. Simple as that. If Bale wanted to go, handed in a TR or whatever, I'd sell ASAP. Different players have different aspirations. And unfortunately for us our status means that any top quality players that come our way will want to leave eventually, when the giants come calling.

And I wouldn't say 'quick' to want JL to leave. I've wanted him gone since it became apparent he was not good enough, which was well over a year ago. Just as we are arguably below Bale's level (Modric, Carrick, Berbatov etc) we are above (WELL ABOVE in my opinion) Livermore's level.

I fail to see how loving Spurs should get you a contract with them regardless of ability. If that was the case we'd all be quids in.

Chadli can play as a striker too.

Have you actually seen him play the lone striker role? I can't recall any info on him suggesting he can. I've heard he has played as either a winger, a wide forward or a no. 10 role.

I think if we are to successfully challenge at the top end of the table we need to move away from the idea of players just "doing a job" and have genuine competition. Again, Bale could probably "do a job" there but playing with his back to goal is not his strong point and it would deprive the team of its biggest strength.

We need 3 genuine strikers IMO, which is why if Ade leaves, I hope we have a younger striker lined up who is more willing to be a squad memeber and bide their time.
