What, one smart arse pillock thinking they know better than the rest of us smart arse pillocks and deciding to tell everyone else what they should be doing?
Pot. Kettle. Black.

I don't know better than anyone on here. That was the point. Nobody knows, and we're re-hashing the same conversation ad nauseum.

It got tiresom weeks ago, and gets even more tiresome when the mods have to step in.

It's counter-productive, we're all nervous about what's happening with GB, but just going round in circles with it.

100% agree. You completely missed the irony of my post, but don't sweat it.

We are really no further forward on Bale than we were when he walked off the pitch after collecting his player of the year awards.

IF (and a big if IMO) they make a bid that is acceptable to us, then he will go. If they dont he wont. No different to any other player. Nothing has changed.

I'd be livid if we paid that much for them - Would never happen but.

We shouldn't really be concerned with how much we pay tbh. Levy wouldn't get us into any sort of financial trouble so we don't need to worry about the numbers, just the players who may/may not arrive.

We are further forward though. AVB is covering for him in press conferences. Bale is refusing to play. Bale stayed and watched Wales and signed autographs etc, which he hasn't done at any of our recent games. Like it or not the mood and circus surrounding Bale has changed since the last day of last season.

This.

I know it seems unlikely, but has anyone considered that he might actually be injured?

Before you all slag him off for refusing to play, an assumption I note the tabloids have all made in recent weeks, maybe just take a step back and ask yourself, is that necessarily what's going on here?

You don't know. Stop jumping to conclusions. This thread is going the way it has done on too many occasions this window.

Maybe he is using the 'injury' for his own agenda. It didn't stop him turning up for Wales and doing a public stint for the cameras, it didn't stop him staying and watching the game, or signing autographs for 'spanish' fans or smiling for the cameras. BUT it stopped him doing the same for us. He didn't train in front of cameras or stay for the game against Espanyol or stop his car and smile for the cameras. If he is setting different standards for different occasions what are we supposed to think?

That's a very good point there.

Is he ? Did he also refuse to play for Wales last night - maybe looking for a transfer to the Spanish national team ?

Everything that is in the press is a combination of fabrication and assumption - just my onion. Im sure Madrid want him, Im sure Gareth would like to play for them (who wouldnt). What Im certain of is we wont sell unless they make an acceptable bid, Im confident Madrid dont have the funds to make that bid. Until they do, nothing has changed.

Just watching a re-run of the Italy-Argentina game on ESPN as Lemela was playing (bit underwhelming but only a friendly), and when he was subbed off the foreign-sounding commentator said "Lamela probably won't be going back to Roma as there are strong rumors his people are in london negotiating with Tottenham, for him, Osvaldo (on the pitch for italy) and Pjanic"! Second commentator replied "Three really good signings for Tottenham"! Commentator ITK? :nailbiting:

... and I though my loan deal dream was barmy! :ROFLMAO:
