Personally , any singing about Gareth on Sunday is disrespectful to the fucking awesome players we have signed,it's them we should be getting behind, players who choose, and WANT to play for THFC.
3 points on Sunday is all I care about....COYS!!

What we need is the "bale, bale, bale" brigade to have a group interject with "w***er, w***er, w***er"

Fucking Bale.

I'm waiting for a bit of reliable, decent ITK but I don't like the way the wind's been blowing the last couple of days on this.

If we are clever, we would put a 1st refusal clause in the sale. By that time hopefully we are champs league regulars and they can write off what they owe. In essence it turns out to be a 3 year loan worth 50m :)

no chance

He'll go to Madrid - this summer or next and then after 3 years there he'll be at Man Utd

By all accounts he wants to be the most expensive player in the world, the mantle of it. He's got the right manager in Ancelotti too, he's got the experience to handle him. I know for many it is a way of dealing with the rejection, but I'm confident he'll tear up the place.

The thing is, when Barcelona beat them to the league title and they go out of the Champions League at the quarter finals again, Ancelotti probably wont be the coach next season!

There's no way will Ronaldo over shadow him. If anything he'll just learn more and get even better.
If Ronaldo acts like a **** I'd bet on Bale teeing even harder to shut him up.

Really? Ronaldo has been consistently one of the world's best for a number seasons...Bale has had half a season.

I am writing this knowing that I am going to get some flak. So be it. Gareth Bale needs to take his head out of his arse. At the moment it is me, me, me, and more me. He is acting petulant. Wont talk to AVB after implying what a wonderful relationship he has with him, and whatever instructions he is giving to Barnett. He is under contract for 3 more years. Therefore the club has to look at what he is worth over the next 3 years, this they have done and rightly or wrongly they have a figure in mind, which no doubt they have told Bale, Barnett and RM. Bale is not going to get his move for nothing. He has to realise that there is a price on his head. His actions now are showing a lack of respect. I was living in hope that he might stay, but now I can't wait for him to go. Let SPURS move on. COYS

It's a fair post and a well thought out opinion so i hope you take no flack for it.

My counter question is, disregarding the press cuttings, for which we know are somewhat fabricated, how much do we actually know about the situation? No much is my answer.

My point being is that we rightly and wrongly form opinions from various sources without much of what i'd class as direct knowledge. We're all intitled to our own opinions of course which is why i respect that you make a post against the general positive flow, but in this big ol' salty world you have to remember we don't know that much.

Christ all this back in a year bollox... He's going be immense in Spain, because he is an unbelievable talent, we've been lucky to have him 7 years.
He may "tear it up" (to quote below)

But there are a lot of factors to take into consideration.

Whether Madrid rush him back into playing due to the hype surrounding him.
So he's playing lacking fitness/form but still the massive expectation.

The fact that Most Madrilenians will have only seen youtube-esque clips of him, and will have high levels of expectation, which can pretty soon lead to hanky waving...

Will he be able to cope with that expectation?

I recall a few games last season which were immediately after he received real high praise from some coach or other notable ex pro and he seemed to try too hard and became subdued when it wasn't going for him.

How will he react to a foreign country ("it's like they are all foreigners?")
He's only ever had two clubs, so no telling really how well he will settle, and while i'm sure Madrid will do everything in their power to help him settle, there are still other factors; personality clashes with team mates/staff, heat, food, lack of sheep? (that's the sound of the barrel being scraped)

I am still deluded hopeful that this will not go through, as it puts the fans in a negative frame of mind right at the start of the season, a season where a lot of new components are expected to hit the ground running and gel on the fly.

A couple of early negative results could see the pressure from fans really mount.

It's funny people call him the 3rd best in the world. What about Xavi, Iniesta, RVP? Those guys have consistently produced season after season. Bales only done it over a short period of time. But I think it's good people are calling him the 3rd best as it pushes the price up!

I think it's all going to end in tears for him if he goes this season. He will constantly be compared to Ronaldo, Marca and the fans will turn against him when he doesn't score every game and Madrid will stay second best to Barca while we go on to rule the world.
Not quite sure we are ready to rule the world, just yet. But I do admire your ambition, and agree wholeheartedly with the majority of your post...(y)

Despite everything that has been said to the opposite, I am still worried we sell Bale for a massive amount. The incomings stop where they are and Levy pockets £50m.

I hope it doesn't happen but Levy does have some previous.

I didn't say he would be better than Ronaldo or score more goals.
I said he won't be overshadowed.
If Ronaldo scored another 40 goals and Bale got say 30 with 10 assists and knowing him 27 of those will be 30 yard thunder bolts would you say he'd been overshadowed?

Levy hasn't exactly pocketed loads. If £50m of the £100m was spent on the stadium I'd be more than happy with that. Lamela and Coentrao in.

Said a few pages back that we are going to end up being bitten in the arse on this deal.
Levy will have given in to a lower bid from Real, albeit still a World Record fee.
Secondly, he won't settle in that environment, so will be back in the PL by start of 2015/16 season at the latest.
Thirdly, we can't afford to buy him back when that happens.
If it's next summer it will be for United as Giggs will have retired that that 11 shirt he wants will be available.

It's the same method that Falcao is using to get his ultimate move to Real - do it via another club for a season or two!
A world record bid is still far more than any player is worth. If we take the cash, buy Lamela, Coentrao and Halivovic then it's us who'll be biting arses !!

I take your response on board. However I must point out that the only part of my post that I attribute to any journo, is AVB's comment that Bale is not talking, and that is a quote. Why the silent treatment to his own manager? I am obviously not privy to what goes on between Bale and Barnett, but I would hazard a guess that Barnett is not acting on his own. We know that RM do not like to comply to the norm. But who has been giving them the ammunition to go ahead with this campaign?
I think Bale has to take some of the responsibility when he opened up to the press and openly discussed what he would like in the future, i.e. I would liked to go to RM eventually, also if he is that keen to go and it is not money driven, why didn't he put in a formal request for a transfer? Whatever the merits are for this campaign personally I think both sides have failed to grasp the nettle. I know there is a lot going for publicity, equally we could look bad for he way we have handled it.

LOL :)

Trust me Madrid fans will be disappointed with Bale. Said it before 99% wil only have seen youtube compilations and expect him to be Mr. Involved. We made him the fulcrum of our team and he still went missing for most games.

Because other than Bale we were shit more often than not. With better team mates he'll flourish.
