No. I dont think any club would buy a player for over £30 million to spit someone.
From what I've read he has an exemplary character and a fantastic work ethic, "a dream to work with" is a quote that stuck with me, not something you hear about footballers often!

I think it's probably got a lot more to do with the fact that they watched Willian go off against them in the Champions League, they know he's a good player and they have money to burn. I don't think it's as personal as people are making it out to be. I think in a way they might be a little bit worried about us having Willian, so in turn they just decided that since he's a good player they would go for him.

He's not actually an agent though so he sort of facilitates deals and basically has the final say in what is going on

True, but footballers are so easily influenced these days. In Willian's mind Kia will be a great guy who is only looking out for what's best for Willian - because that is precisely what Kia wants Willian to think.
I do take your point, but as we've seen with Modric, Bale etc. who both were known as happy, down to earth guys, the agent can easily twist their minds.
Case is rarely ever closed when it comes to agents unfortunately.
I do think that there needs to be regulation on this type of activity, ie agents getting fees etc. these should come out of the players pockets.
