Truly a very very good player. Will prove to be a great bit of business for Chelsea. Gutted beyond words that we never got him. But time to move on!

The positive about Chelsea wrapping this up quickly means that we can now get on with looking elsewhere (and that clutching at straws)
Can you imagine if he was mulling over both offers over the weekend? Would have been brutal. I actually think that we are in a bit of trouble now. We got fundamental parts of our squad sorted early, but that creative missing piece is till missing and is now a gaping hole.

if they were agreed, they'd have been signed.

If they had been signed before the medical and if the medical had revealed an imminent and unavoidable, career ending injury or condition, we'd have been fucked.

So no.........they wouldn't have been signed before the medical.

 As if you wouldn't put something along the lines of 'subject to successful passing of medical'. You know, like in our contract at work if you pass probabtion?

Also even with your scenario, the medical was done on Wednesday, so why the 24 hour wait to put pen to paper?

Thank you!

There have been a spike of retarded comments today and it's driving me nuts...

I have now started the task of reprogramming myself from thinking Willian is a world class AMC into thinking he is pretty average. here are his stats on wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willian_Borges_da_Silva

So during all his years in the pretty crappy UKRAINIAN LEAGUE he never managed more than 5 assists or 6 goals a season. Hardly world class is it? ;)

Agent stalling over agent fees?

I was under the impression that everything was agreed (fee, terms, medical etc), and that it was just the work permit to be sorted that was out of our hands. Chelsea came in and offered more money, Willian and Kia cancelled our agreement given that it wasn't complete. Maybe agreeing terms first, announcing it then medical would have given us something to go on - but whose to say Chelsea wouldn't have come in and offered him more and he just didn't turn up for the medical. A 'subject to medical' announcement wouldn't have made us any more protected from a bigger bid. Kia and Willian reneged on a deal - doubt we'll be dealing with him again.

Because Joorabchian was either given the heads up by Chelsea on Wednesday or changed his demands once the medical had been completed. Wouldn't surprise me, in fact, if Joorabchian knew about Chelsea's interest before the medical. In which case, Willian would never have signed regardless.......and Chelsea get a free medical.

SSN: Willian says he hasn't made his mind up yet

Spurs with a manager you're friendly with already and a starting berth, or Chelsea with an egomaniac who you'll be sat next to for the next 2/3 of a year?

So Willy, do you want proper glory or just to pick up your paycheque and the odd winner's medal without doing much?
