Lamela, Eriksen, Leandro. Losing Bale would a blow, no getting around it, he's been an animal this last season, but we'd be a much more balanced squad with strong depth. Another wide man if I'm being greedy but Lamela, Chadli, Townsend and Lennon to flank Bobby isn't slit your wrists time.

More importantly that stronger squad would have the tools for AVB to fully implement his ideas and became better still by being greater than the sum of its parts.

I agree. He wasn't even in our transfer plans/strategy a week ago. Sure we've lost a bit of time going after the other targets but it isn't the last day like when this usually happens. We've over a week of the window left.

I'm pissed off at missing out on willian though make no mistake about it. But we must have other irons in the fire.

As for selling our best player, we can try our best to keep our best players and we have kept bale for this long but if anyone takes a second to think about it, we're talking about a WORLD RECORD FEE. This is the definition of crazy money we're talking about. It's very very VERY hard to turn down from one of the biggest clubs in the world. As a footballer of course Bale would wanna go there and for that amount of money of course we'd be prepared to sell him. All we can do is make sure we don't get screwed which is why we're trying to make sure the money is up front or at least on our terms and attempting to sweeten the deal with players though it's hard to make people switch jobs and take a pay cut.

End of the day, we have tried to get a great player in Willian and just not been able to do it cause a bigger team has come in. We have tried to keep Bale but faced a world record bid. We've still improved with our four summer signings and are pushing for more like Lamela so I am a very happy Spurs fan right now.

Your right, we have bought well so far and sold well too. If it ended today. That would be a great job. I'd be over the moon..

If it ended tomorrow, minus Bale however, maybe with another player" for the future"that would be a disgrace.

Really this would be a huge high if it were both, if it was am gonna proper creampie my apple pie whilst fixing this fucking boiler (sorry to go on about the boiler but giving you some ITK about the stupid boiler as well... Sorry)

Resigned to him joining Chelsea now but would Kevin Keegan style fucking 'love it' if he chose us after all!

I'm not, but Gards' tweets are allowed in here aren't they? So thought I'd post. Someone else has said same thing in Willian thread, so who knows what's actually happening!
