If they don't want to go, just don't include them in the squad.
That is a massive waste of wages tbh.

Include that in the GB contract , Señor Perez is desperate, I am sure he won't mind paying these wages

I agree with you, but would you rather (and this is going to the extreme I know) but not be able to sign Ronaldo as Ade does not want to go, or send Ade to the stands & sign Ronaldo.

All Hypothetical I know, but I cannot see even Ade sitting at home every weekend, while having to attend training just to pick up his weekly pay cheque. If it clear to him that he is not part of the plan, then he will go. Will obviously cost us, but I am sure that we cannot just cancel a contract, just as a player can't

Starting to get worried about some of our more recent signings. Hope it doesn't turn into 'the Starbucks 3' and they start to feel uncomfortable or worried about their prospects. Holtby for example must be feeling a little wary - especially if we do bring in yet another central midfielder (in addition to Eriksen). Dembele maybe too?

I'm sure though AVB will have put their minds at rest. Or at least I hope so!

Loving it anyway, but it does feel and seam a little weird tbh. Maybe I've followed Spurs for too long and these sort of things don't happen to us.

Question: the club will make a stonking profit on trading this year, and, notwithstanding any money injected by Lewis as operating capital and/or to cover future losses, will make a huge paper profit and cash break-even over the term of the purchases (with sales more or less matching purchases). However, we will also be left with one of the biggest amortisation bills in world football, meaning that, however profitable we are in cash terms, we will struggle to break even. How does FFP treat this situation?

One of the reasons why we're spending so much now, I suspect, is that over the course of the coming season, amortisation will have reduced the book value of our new players by some £25-30 million.

And that is actually a good thing!

Otherwise, we would be looking at making a big profit from selling Bale and therefore facing a hefty tax bill. Money down the drain.

As to amortisation being a problem with regard to FFP going forward...........not a chance, IMO - not least because Levy and Collecott are far too clever to allow it.

We have actually sold a lot of players over the past few years, without spending a great deal on incoming. Until this season. So we had plenty of leeway for spending big on players this year without our amortisation costs becoming too big.

Factor in the vastly increased TV deals and likely increased commercial income and, frankly, we're in clover.

Edit: And just to ensure that SC doesn't have any problems with FFP, £40 donated. Fantastic entertainment and value over the past month since joining. Thank you.

No we won't, as with the exception of Soldado, all the players should increase in value over the period of their contract.

So I would say that if amortisation does come into play, of which I have no idea, then we will be posting a projected profit on our P&L for these assets over the period of their contracts

That's against every accounting rule in the book, so no, we won't be doing that. And yes, we will have an increased amortisation charge each year, though I'd expect increased TV money will more than offset that.

The finance guys at Spurs know what they are doing.

Exactly this. This is when he needs to start earning his money, keeping his squad together, hapy and playing the best football thay can.

In AVB I trust, I think he learnt a massive lesson at the Chavs. If we win on Sunday, the mood in the club wil be enormous (as my Love Pump will be) and that will just bring everyone together!!!

This transfer window has knocked me bandy, i don't know what to do with myself. I may just knock back some jellys and tequila and wake up just in time for the derby.

Seriously guys we need to stop this, the thought of adding Eriksen, Lamela, Chirches, Coentrao and Griezmann to this squad has actually got me sitting a cold shower crying due to the pain in my cock.

Atleast you still have one. Mine was yanked off yesterday.

On a different note; i have gone beyond excitment and started worrying WTF is happening.

The bit that interests me the most right now is our striker situation. Ade and JD have both had rumours around them, if they were to suddenly go with only a couple of days left then all bets would be off as to what the hell will happen. Still a bit of an unknown factor, we haven't been linked with that many more strikers really.

If we somehow brought in a great striker to rotate/compete with Soldado, I'd be as high as Nepalese monk

I don't see why our other players especially our more recent signings ( Dembele, Siggurdson, Holtby ) would want to leave what is probably the most exciting squad for the forthcoming season. I know City have spent more, I know Chelsea, United and the Scum will strengthen and purchase but does that create excitement? No. The plucky little under dog team has finally shown its hand and I can see all the other clubs getting seriously frantic over the next days solely because we have evolved our squad completely and are still looking too strengthen further. For the first time in a while I think our rivals are truly worried about what we can do this season. We have signed players with the right price-tags and not just thrown money around, and all of our positions should be covered by the end of the window. That in itself elevates us to title challengers at least in the depth department. When those players signed they all signed with a common goal, Moving Tottenham Hotspur forward as a club and to new heights why abandon ship when sailing actually starts looking promising?

Christ that's the best 20 pages I've seen since I found my first porn mag as a kid. Coentrao may be coming and I've just seen Lamela arriving at Spurs on SSN. Un-fucking-believable.

Have you not seen Chiriches' YouTube compilation??! Anything happens to Roberto, and we can stick Vlad up top.

I'd be very surprised if another striker isn't on our radar as long as the money is available.

I actually think that in the team we're building, Adebayor would be very very good, but that doesn't look like happening, and for me Defoe isn't at the same level as the squad evolving around him.

I think the striker situation might be the one that goes down to deadline day for us.

Yep, a fit and on form Ade who is willing to rotate and compete would be PERFECT for us right now. Fat chance of it ever happening though.

I am not advocating this as a sensible option but if we get Lamela and someone like Greizmann we may not bother with another striker and elect to use these two in that role when needed.
