I also said the same about Dempsey and siggy and people finally came round to my thinking.

Dempsey scored some very important goals last season and gave his all in one season.

Siggy has potential and has shown he can cut it at Swansea.

Your point is?

If arse get ozil, and we have lost bale, bought way too many DMs and a not so special striker, perhaps they had the better transfer window after all.

We should have made it a condition of the Bale sale that we get Özil, he is in my opinion better than any of the players we bought, that reflects in the price too.

So we got rid of 3 defensive midfielders and bought 2 and that's too many? And a proven 30 goal a season striker isn't special? The less fans like you the better

When we finish 5th or 6th, I will dig up all this. Happy clappers really get on my tits. Blindly supporting the regime.

It's another transitional season.

What's the point in saying we're doomed to fail when we're only 3 games into the season? With 2 wins at that. Give them a chance. By all means, if we're 6th by the end of the season then throw your toys out the pram. Until then, get behind the team and have a bit of faith in those running the club.

I don't think we are doomed to fail, I just think it's going to take a lot longer to get it right with what's basically a whole new team and worry Levy won't be as patient.

Losing Bale is an extreme loss. Don't think people understand the magnitude of it yet.

I wonder how, with our special relationship and all, arsenal end up getting ozil. not us. we weren't ever linked with him. hmmm.... did we not even try or were we told hands off?
I mean the guy's fucking genuine class and now our biggest rivals have him, and we were willing to spend 30 mil on willian who is a less sure bet for a great AM.
We just aren't gonna cut it with the elite clubs without having someone exceptional in this role.

Partnership or not, we can't simply tell RM who they can sell their players too. Nor does it make us a more appealing destination to any players RM might be looking to shift.

I mean, technically we could tell them not to but only if we were willing to forego the £86m for Bale should that be a sticking point.

Maybe the special partnership was that they lead arsenal down the garden path making them think they could have ozil then pull the plug at 22.59.

That would be outstanding

but in the build up to selling bale there was huge speculation with regards to who, from real, would make the switch the other way. This means we must have looked at all the options. Plus with all the negotiating over the bale transfer you'd have to assume we were in the best position to get first pick.

So either they weren't being honest about ozil, or we we're stupid enough to refuse.

Or maybe even after they put a gun in Ozil's mouth and told him to sign for us, he said, "pull the trigger. I don't think you have the berries!"

is there really such a difference for him to agree to go to spurs or arsenal? I don't think so. Pay him the wages and RM the fee and we could have done it.
