WHAT A FUCKING WINDOW.

Sorry, but I'm fucking delighted with that. I look forward to the TEAM threat rather than hoping Bale might wallop one in. Words like "philosophy" and "teamwork" rather than "talisman" and "one man team".

If you can't take an overall look at our business and be happy then there will NEVER EVER be a reason for you to be happy about this football club.

If you're unhappy take a timeout, or just go somewhere else because all I'm interested in seeing is people thanking fellow Spurs fans for passing on information and thanking Archibald&Crooks for painstakingly crafting a new thread for you to dump your pictures, off topic chat and general grumpiness in EVERY DAY. And usually with a ridiculous number of one-liners about tits.

So be happy, you clowns.

Stoof out.

I was expecting us to sign a left back today, not sell one.

Other than that it's impossible not to be happy with our transfer dealings this window. We've improved our squad massively, and the Bale transfer was always going to happen.

We didn't

some of you need to MAN up. get a grip!! other clubs sign players too. WE have done amazing!!! now this window crap is over.....lets get behind our (new) team!! im excited, all of you should be too!!!

Don't be silly, part of the bale deal should have been that no other club can sign any player that might make them better without levy saying so, but as usual we have been let down by our great leader who was too busy signing 7 quality players to check the small print.

Can we get back to supporting the team now?

No need to be pissed off, people just need perspective. What is the point in adding a LB that won't improve the squad just for the sake of it. Benny was let go as he seems to not fit AVB's project, so that is no big loss as he wouldn't have played.
AVB wanted a LB if we are to believe ITK

Just using public knowledge of bids as a point of reference. We had £30 million for Willian but that went tits up. Instead (I presume with the same fund) we signed Eriksen for around £10 million. Surely even if ONLY had the Willian money, we could of found a LB who was an upgrade on Rose for £20 million?

I didn't want one to improve the squad, I wanted one to improve the first team.

Disappointed we've failed to add a LB. I do see it as a cock up to let an experienced PL and international LB go out on loan to a Championship side, without making sure we had an adequate replacement, leaving us one natural option. (And he's converting from LW). Schoolboy error.
But. Bigger picture, on the whole, a damn good summer window. Some real class added. Genuine talent and potential. Very happy with that.
Would have liked replacements for Ade and BAE based on them being out of managers plans, but without suitable replacements recruited, happy for them to stay put. Ade has, so improved our strength in depth from last year. Benny hasn't, so mistake there
Overall, very happy. Best window I've seen.

Abso-fucking-exactly. Nailed it.

Loads to be happy about this window, but the left-back situation was an "unforced error", to use tennis parlance. Overall, very good, but not perfect.

Think you owned him to be fair.

The insult really did make me laugh though :-D
Agreed, was nearly as funny as when that bloke threw a strop and called Stoof "petal"......fuck the signings we've made, that was the highlight of the window for me.

Who was this supposed 40 mil signing? Surely now that nothing has happened, out of curiosity, it can be reviled....

I'm not feeling too negative but I can't help but feel that the Ozil signing is a massive dent to our chances of top 4. We'll need time to gel, many new players won't hit the ground running, whilst the gooners need only integrate one real top draw signing (better than any of ours I'm afraid to say) to an already strong team. We saw how pacy and fluid they were at the Emirates on Sunday, and now and towards the end of last season, they seem to be more defensively resolute, playing more of a counter attacking game. If they stay injury free we could miss out again.

Ultimately we've made a net profit on this transfer window. It seems the signings gloss over that fact, but take sales into account and we've not really spent a pound of the new TV money. One thing I don't understand is why we gave Madrid a day to sell players after the Bale purchase, we were always risking strengthening rivals and it wouldn't suprise me if we knew about the gooners and Ozil. We could have easily held back on the signature and fax until the last moment, provided everything else was in place (and it clearly was).

Still, let's see how things stand at the end of the season, it's surely going to be one of the most interesting and exciting campaigns yet. COYS!

So I'm the only one that thinks there wasn't any loan from Joe Lewis? Struck me as BS at the time, still does.
Of course there wasn't, beyond possibly helping with cash flow on new deals.
This window proves ENIC will never put net new investment in transfers whilst they own the club - this
was the perfect opportunity to do it

Not to have a go mate, but if you knew that before, than why in the hell did you guys post ITK through the GOAT late last night that we were going for a 45 million pound signing?
Or why didn't we just lock this thread? Or post any ITK at all?

Or does posting ITK via The Goat mean I can't voice my onions?

Someone please explain to me how in three short years we have gone from the team above to the present day proposed starting eleven of:

Lloris

Chiriches
Rose
Eriksen
Paulinho
Sandro
Chadli
Lamela
Soldado

Please explain why we are so FUCKED after this transfer window!

Everyone should read this five times, then take a deep breath and read it five more times.

Spot on.

Add Holtby to that list. Maybe even Ade. I know, that's a stretch but maybe he finally "gets it"?

It doens;t matter what our net spend is, we added a whole lot of players for nothing. nothing. nothing. Not only does it massively improve our squad, we done it for effectively nothing. It leaves our squad in a really fucking good financial position.

Its going to be hard enough getting our players to gel without adding more players to that mix. If we need to solve something, we can wait to jan, we got enough talent here to beat teams.

For nothing??
For a moment I though we had lost our best player

I do get your point. Our squad is better overall, even after losing out best player and our only goal threat.
But my point is that we do have money left. That's what the net spent tell you. And if we have it, and we can upgrade some positions, we should've done it. Regardless of the amount of players we've already brought in.
If Danny Rose (whom I don't think is good enough) get injured, we're fucked.

It's been a great window nonetheless.

Well, a lot of posters here showed their true derpitude today.

Anyhow, I'm pumped for the season. Good news about Capoue. We come back to face Norwich and then Cardiff. A couple of tough matches where we hopefully show ourselves better in attack.

We added 7 internationals. We bring Rose and Townsend back into the fold. Sandro and Kaboul are back. Promising, indeed. I do not envy AVB's decision on who makes the bench on match days.
