Whatever we are paying him it's too much. The guy is a disgrace to our white shirt. The wost kind of modern day footballer and I'm mortified he is still with us,but it's a sign of just the kind of filth he is that only one or two teams were interested in him.
Money grabbing waste of space and he must be sold ASAP

There is absolutely no need for this sort of post. The guy isn't a disgrace, and it wouldn't hurt for you to remember he has put in some fantastic performances for our club. Last season we were more fluent with him than without him and you have no idea what he is like behind the scenes.

Ok, Ok, sorry about the 170k figure. I had that in my memory from, I think, something as to what he was earning in city, and what we and they made up the difference to. Perhaps I was being incendiary. But at any rate he's earning a nice living, better most likely than you and I (at least I). Also he has skill, so I was just wondering if anyone believed there was any way to get that out of him.

At least one or two do, so there is hope!

This Adebayor fiasco has become a bit of a joke to be honest, if he's not in the squad for the Norwich game then I'll just be really disappointed in truth. It's like we don't even have the guy at the moment.

As much as I don't really want to say it but if we don't actually fucking start playing more of our game around Soldado then Adebayor will be a more effective striker for us. It's frustrating as hell to have such a player disappear and not even make the bench so far this season.

Is the 170k per week figure a fact or assumption/hear say?
Hardly the thrust of the post.
Anyway, is he even back in London? I saw some pics of him in the last couple of days where he seemed to still be in Africa, living it up, one smoking a hookah pipe. Pre season Ade style. WTF!
Still, hope they aren't recent pics and would like to see him come good and bag 15 this season. Though who knows with his form.

He may not be worthy of the wages we are paying, but Adebayor is not a disgrace in any facet of the word.

He had an awful year last year, there is no one that can really refute that. His season was as stop/start as it gets. Some self-inflicted (Red Card at Arsenal, getting back "late" from ACN) to simply not being of the required level that we needed from our lone striker.

But, the fact remains that if we want to sell him, we need to play him in some matches to build back up his value. If we let him rot on the bench we will be put into a Darren Bent at Aston Villa situation where we end up paying a guy on exorbitant wages that we don't want anymore. Give him some matches in the Europa League, F.A. Cup and Capital One Cup and who knows, he might start putting together a good string of performances.

I think Ade is a player who gets stuck in his own head, and to be fair to him he's been through a lot. Can we get him to play like he did during hos loan season he will be a huge asset. 17 goals and 11 assists are amazing stats and he was a vital part of the team. He didn't fit the system last season where all focus was placed on Bale and we built the team around him for the second half of the season.

No preseason, the ACN and all that didn't really help at all, but we need him back training with the squad, having someone put an arm around him and tell him how big his dick is and that he's a proper player. We need alternatives up front and Defoe and Soldado are pretty similar, having a completely different player in Ade will be useful. He can find his way back, of that I'm certain. We need to play him differently than last season though, he needs to be up top, spear heading the attack, not drifting wide. On his day he is unplayable and a nightmare for most defenses.

Ade and VdV developed an amazing understanding and if Eriksen can do half of what Rafa did for Ade we will have three very good alternatives for the striker position.

He is still the best lone striker we have
lone striker!!.. agree... seemed he was playing a different game to the other 10 players in spurs shirts last season.
don't give shit what he does of the pitch or what his supposed problems or wages are.. the baggage with him is to much!.. he aint doing what he's supposed to do while wearing the shirt then he shouldn't be in the shirt.

Ade's value to us this year will depend on his ability to play one of the wide forward positions and whether he can link up with Soldado effectively

He missed the direct creativity of VdV last year so the likes of Eriksen and Lamela may help him instead of having Bale's more dynamic style controlling our attacks and shooting from range

I think he can be an asset this season but much depends on whether he wants to be - he's not going to be "the main man" and history has suggested he only thrives when he feels that he is. There are games when he looks unplayable -Liverpool at home in his first season for example - and he's capable of moments of magic like at the Bridge last sesason, but h's equally capable of playing like he doesn't give an eff and if he's played as second fiddle to Soldado he may act like that rather than fighting to be number 1

We're going to need him over the course of a long season if we're to be successful on all fronts - I think AVB has a lot of new ands big challenges this season in regards to making the pieces fit the puzzle and finding the right blends (keep everyone fit, happy and match sharp etc) and getting the best out of Ade while also doing the best by the team is likely to be the biggest of those challenges

In response to the op, doubt he is on 170k a week, and honestly god knowa what we will get out of him hopefully he turns it on and gets 15+ goals and assists.

Also the photo's of him from holiday are more then likely from when he was on holiday. No abuse to anyone here but if you go on his instagram some of the comments are jusy pathetic, make me embarassed to be a spurs fan.

I must say, to have your brother pass away at such a young age, combined with the PTSD he must suffer from surviving that bus attack, he may struggle to just get out of bed daily... Not trying to make excuses, just pointing out real life elements that effect players' performance to those attacking him on social media.
(BTW - as it is my profession, I work with soldiers and veterans suffering from PTSD daily)
