Adebayor? What will we get for 170k/week this year

I guess everyone expected him to be gone, but here he is still, pocketing his 170k a week. What do people think we might get for that this year? Everyone knows he has the skill, and everyone also knows the motivation is not exactly the strongest.

Last season was a flop of epic proportions (given his salary), although at the end he suddenly sprung to life and started to show his quality. Can man-managing AVB get him out there giving his best, badge-kissing like that Bale guy in Madrid, and giving his best for the team?

Or will he just relax on the bench counting his money ?

We're not paying him £170k a week. More like £90k. That was the hold up for the deal as ade wanted a payoff from city.

I thought he was on 80k ish but was given a huge signing on fee to 'compensate'. Regardless of that, I'd say the answer to the question is 'less than we're paying for'.

Hopefully he will feel a sense of responsibility and, maybe, that this might actually be the last chance to do something with his talent.
And that is assuming that AVB isn't going to just freeze him out until January - I, for one, hope he doesn't, as he is a highly effective, gifted even, player when his mind is right.

I worry that once again his pre-season was not ideal. If he wants to play he would be a great addition to the squad. I'm not optimistic that he will however.

I am probably in the minority here, but I am expecting good things. He has had one good season, and then one mediocre at best. He has all the payers round him now to provide him all he needs, and he has not "wanted" to go anywhere else.

This is Ade's season, he has some real competition for a place now with Soldado, and I have a sneaky feeling that he he could prove to be a surprise package this season.

1. He isn't on £170K a week.
2. I don't think AVB has any intention of playing him, so to answer your question, not a lot.

Think this is a crucial point, and I also think you're bang on. It seems to me that AVB is about as keen on Ade as he is on BAE.

He played the last few games of last season, so whats changed?
Still a good option to have if he can put the effort in. Could play as a lwf or as striker.

the death of his brother and the move to turkey falling through has probably really fuqed an already notoriously fragile player....

if he can bounce back, then he could be useful :cautious:

Is the 170k per week figure a fact or assumption/hear say?

It is most certainly
