Looking for a performance as much as a result here. I mean a win would obviously be best of all, but a draw, or even an unlucky loss and we dominate would be ok. Win, lose or draw, I just don't want a weak showing from us.

Eriksen and the fullbacks will be targeted. Dawson will be allowed to have the ball and well...give it away. We'll need to play keep-ball, hold our nerve and be bold with our use of subs.

83.3% pass completion is not terrible from Dawson (I'm no fan btw), and 7 accurate long-balls a game puts him 8th on the stat in the PL.

While we're on the subject of obscure stats, it seems we have the fewest off-sides per game of any club in Europe's top five leagues. Mad huh? Can't imagine a similar stat if Defoe started every week. That said I can't quite work out if its a positive, negative or neutral kind of stat...

Considering the amount of attacking we've done in each of our 5 games I'd say it's very positive.

I'm still not expecting us to be at our coherent best as we are still settling into a system as well as numerous personnel changes so I'll gladly take three points however which way we manage to secure them!

Mourinho will try and make this a sluggish affair and for us to get bogged down in midfield which is why I think having Townsend in is key to us stretching the Chelsea side and generating space for the likes of Eriksen to operate in. I do believe if Rose is fit then Siggy will start on the left but I'm not totally enamoured with that prospect but whatever permeatation, be it 433 or 4231, we'll field a strong side and one capable of winning coupled with the fact that our bench should be plentiful with options.

BT openzone, if you can get it, costs a fiver for the day and it's got more than enough bandwidth, plus some of the streams are on low res 250k, bit blurred but by no means unwatchable.

Otherwise just take your daughter to the Pub with you, she'll love it, special treat with Daddy... :)

@ sloth -- you must be on your 3rd pot of coffee, you're hammering these match related threads since yesteday - good on ya boyo!! Like most of us, you must be REALLY up for this game :coffee: (y)

BIG game today - the entire Premiership is watching and will take note on today's result. Seems like Spurs need to win today to "prove" they are a top side now. With that only loss coming against arsenal, Spurs want to quiet all those doubters claiming Spurs being flat track bullies at moment. Spurs have the talent to win,... but today we find out if they have the intestinal fortitude, belief, and killer instinct to get a deserved 3 points.

COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :borg:

Disagree. Points mean prizes, and we'll be gelling to a greater or lesser degree over the entire remainder of the season in any case. A dominating performance and 0 points is not an outcome I would deem "ok".

Cheaper than a match ticket, though. Chuck in food and transport, you'll still be quids in.

I know what you mean but 27 quid to watch one game of football on the tv is a piss take and i just cant afford it at the min

My team
Ll
Walk, daws, vert, Rose
Paulinho, Sandro, dembele
Eriksen, Siggy
Soldado

I know it's a change to 4321 but in a game like this possession will be key.

Townsend can be used for pace and Holtby, Lamela and Defoe give us real options.

Only issue is we can't play this if Rose is unfit as it needs an attacking LB.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?
