I think we are better than Liverpool and our rusty old centre back is better than their rusty old centre back and that in the end will be enough

Not sure about this. I don't usually subscribe to "must wins", especially so early in the season. Certainly more important to not lose I think.

It's not early in the season though...it's right about now that you want to start proving a point and beating your positional rivals.

However, I do agree that "must win" games only help to put pressure on a club.

Got to take the game to them. Their fans are worried about Flannigan playing left back, they think Lennon will be all over him.

I think Liverpool will play better football with Allen and a cm3 (which is what I think they'll play tomorrow) than they have been with Gerard lately.
Yes but they will be weaker and more easily bullied out of their rhythm. But you may well be right.
I would always want to play against a team without Gerrard than with him. He is a top class player as is sturridge.
I reckon we will win.

I would rather Gerrard was playing. I know he's capable of great moments, but I think the opposite of you, I think Liverpool will have more ball without him, and in Suarez and Coutinho they have players that can make that count.

Our midfield will continuously bully them off of the ball and Lennon/Townsend in their natural positions should open up the game with their pace. I could see Suarez grabbing a goal, but we really should be scoring and winning this match, especially with it being at home.

OPPOSITION SCOUTING REPORT:

Liverpool have beaten Villa and Sunderland away & won no other matches away from Anfield.
They drew at Newcastle, Swansea and Everton
They lost at Arsenal and Hull.

All their good form is at home; last 5 home wins have been 4-1, 5-1, 4-0, 4-1 and 3-1 all against rubbish teams.

Suarez, who people seem to fear, has scored goals this year against Sunderland, Palace, West Brom, Fulham, Everton, Norwich and West Ham.

He has failed to score against Arsenal, Man Utd, Newcastle and Hull.

He is a souped up flat track bully Jermain Defoe.

Gerrard and Sturridge have scored and assisted 12 and 8 goals between them. Tomorrow they are absent.
Joe Allen, widely lauded as Gerrard's replacement, has scored and assisted ZERO league goals ever for Liverpool.

They are quite shit.

PREDICTION

Tottenham 6-0 Liverplol

Even taking the light heartedness out of it, Liverpool are not that good. They are really vulnerable through the centre & have ridden on the back of their strikers. Their only solid player in their back 4 is Johnson and he is only solid going forward.

There will be space aplenty on the flanks, and they will struggle to get out of their half. Sure Coutinho and Suarez can break fast and effectively, but there is no way we don't dominate this match, we have far too much quality throughout the team, and granted a smidgen of the luck that owes us one from Newcastle, it should be the classic squeeze from us punctuated by a couple of goals.

Arsenal got shown up for what they are yesterday, ie. Not title contenders, Liverpool get shown up for what they are in the coming weeks ie. Not top 4 contenders.

Disagree. Whilst Liverpool aren't the 4th best team, the PL doesn't really work like that.

The majority of teams in our league are shit. So shit that they set up negatively week in week out against teams like us. We struggle to break teams like those down.

However, whilst Liverpool's midfield is nothing on ours, in suarez, they have a player that tears those shit teams to shreds. Over the season, they will drop less points to the poor teams therefore and that could well make the difference...

Goals win games and they have a great strikeforce.

I don't even want a win, I want us to thrash them and derail their season close to January so Suarez will kick up a stink.
