Here we go, load of fans thinking we should have been better.

You're looking at the best in the world now folks.
If it was Madrid or Barcelona or Bayern Munich that did that you'd not be so bothered.

Imo City will destroy all of those with ease.

We should have been. Despite it being City, if you are happy with what you saw for most of that first half then that is shocking.

Seeing the Rose challenge again. What a tackle.

Everyone gets blown away.

You're just gonna have to accept that we can't compete with that. They're now an unstoppable monster.

They could have got 10 tonight and I'd still not think of it as a humiliation. They're playing fifa on easy.

Not everyone but yes they are good but more worrying is how far we are going back as a club Liverpool we get fourth for me now and deservedly so.
But I an worried about our direction very worried

Arsenal lost 8-2 not that long time ago and managed to get top 4. We can still get it, it will be hard because Liverpool look very dangerous, but I'd like to see them with 4-5 big injuries. You never know, Suarez could do something stupid and get some big ban. Or Lloris and Walker could end up injured until the end of season and we'll be totally fucked. Nothing is over yet.

The other only team in the top 6 that still suffers heavy defeats. Guaranteed to concede 5 in at least 2 or 3 games a season. Happening more often which is a worrying trend.

I'd say our goal difference is going to be the biggest hurdle in our attempt to attain a top four place now.

The fifth was pathetic. Can someone tell me what naughton was doing as he certainly didn't have a clue.....

The more I watch Naughton the more convinced I am that we only signed him to help the Walker deal go through, just like we did with Etherington and Davies.

To start blaming the ref is clutching at straws. They were totally dominant in the first half an hour. We were lucky to still be in it.

The sending off was harsh but surely questions need to be asked why Dzeko was free goal side of Rose in the first place?

You get what you deserve in football, and the score line reflected the match IMO.

Did we deserve to be 1-1? Yes.

Did Rose deserve to be sent off? No.

Did City deserve their second goal? No.

So, apparently we didn't get what we deserved, did we? We were well in the game before that fucking linesman compounded his original error with an even bigger one. Ruined a fantastic game and maybe our season.

Sending off or not, they were a different class tonight. Only one team was going to win that match tonight for me and it was quickly apparent. We were competing brilliantly but they seemed to be in 2nd gear for stretches. Their squad has hideously underachieved for a couple of yrs now. With a manager/HC who knows what he's doing in charge now, these are the results of hunnerts of millions spent season after season for about 6 yrs. Insane strength and quality.

We also didn't give a good account of ourselves tonight when things went against us but hey, only one game in a 38 game season. We have a lot of our bastard fixtures already done and have been looking better in the 'should win' games so far under TS. I'm still expecting us to fall short but there's every chance in reality. Just my decades of glorious defeat skewing my outlook.

Frustrating night. Penalty was obviously a major point in the game, but I don't think it affected the game in terms of where the 3 points were going. Man City have the best team I can recollect seeing. The cohesion of their team is superb - just watch the players runs off the ball, the hunting down of the ball, the vision, the teamwork.

What tonight highlighted to me was:

1. Tim picked the wrong starting XI.
2. Capoue should have started in place of Bentaleb.
3. Dawson and Chiriches are both cover CB's, not first teamers. We need a new CB.
4. We need a new LB.
5. Lennon needs replacing.
6. We don't work hard enough on retaining the ball.

I think Spurger said we have gone backwards - I completely agree. We are still one of the top 6 teams, but we aren't progressing any further. Verts and Lloris will be off in the summer.

You think that performance was acceptable? We were turd bar about five or ten minutes before half time. Palace and Watford put up a better display against them.

Of course we won't. We've sold all our star players, and tried to find new ones on the cheap. The one player we got that could potentially be a star for us hasn't had a look in, and Levy's content to keep his wallet shut while other teams strengthen.

We've gone down a level IMO. We're closer to the likes of Newcastle than we are to being a top four team.

As for Oil Money FC...just another meaningless victory. With the money they have, winning the league should be a foregone conclusion every season. Yay for healthy competition.

We are the same level we have been for the last 4 seasons. The top 2/3 teams are far better than the rest and we are in the pack chasing 3/4 spot with 4/5 other teams.
Its a bad result but dont give up we are still in the hunt for 4th
