It would be churlish to ignore a major turning point being the red card/penalty but the truth of the matter is we were comprehensively beaten by a more talented, balanced and complete side.

What isn't helping is the naivity of Sherwood which is compromising us from the off but also, the same faces being picked almost regardless of form and I can see with Sherwood being really reluctant to rotate and as such, big names and talented individuals are going to get marginalised and fucked off pretty damn quick!

A strange season unravelling and this isn't going to subside until the summer for me so it's a case of putting in the ground work and selecting the players to take us (hopefully) back to glory - these players don't include Dawson, Lennon, Sigurdsson et al.

Ah well, I expected a close game - normal service has been resumed. Lets face it - Liverpool deserve 4th. As for us - We should be top 6. Everton will finish above us...
Look on the BRIGHT SIDE at least Man City will be on top.

Considering they got spanked 4-0 last night by Liverpool, I don't think they can be stated as a fact.

why do liverpool deserve 4th?

We are only 3points off them, and Utd will inevitably close the gap too. We havent got to play either City or Utd again this season.

Liverpool look much better then Spurs... Lets have a chat at the end of the Season... Mark my words we will be BEST 5th or 6th..

There's something dysfunctional about our club at the moment. Bent referring or not, you can't be shipping 5 again at home. There's too much uncontrolled 'defending' throughout the team this season. While we're doing reasonably well, we're not turning other sides over with 4 or 5 to spare while it's happening to us with alarming regularity. It's turning into more of a maddening season than a mad one, and you'd like to think Sherwood has a plan to get our big players back in the eleven and get on a run to chase down Liverpool.

I'm a fan of Sherwood's and think AVB was a bit of a fraud and deserved the boot. But make no mistake about it, Sherwood is on notice now and wont be allowed another shellacking. What's been happening to us this season doesn't happen to properly managed football teams - and by management I mean everyone from the coaches up to Levy.

I simply do not understand this. Was I watching some other game? Man city are one of the best teams in the world. After watching them pin us back for 25 minutes Tim got the guys getting stuck in and kicking them and we should have gone in 1-1. Then we were robbed by a horrendous, bad decision by the same idiot who flagged for offside and then the game was over. A team of city's quality will keep the ball better and until the 4th goal (which was a deflection) we never let our heads drop and kept fighting. The fifth goal also fell kindly for them.

Aguero was always going to give Daws the runaround like he would about 90% of the centre backs in the world - Daws got stuck into him after the 25th minute. Silva is a magician. Benteleb could have been tighter for the goal but his off the ball movement was quick and sharp. Nabil was good - played well and forward. Once Tim got Mousa to play forward rather than sideways they were being pressed back. All the signs were good until that idiot got his decisions wrong.

And now Tim is on notice?!?!? Mate this is not Football Manager and I don't think you have spent enough time on a pitch playing the game.

Our centre backs are absolutely useless.
They were at fault for every goal and opportunity the Arabs had or made.
They were like scared rabbits. Both are dangerous and foolish in so many ways. Which fucktard scouted chiriches?

Whats the point in playing, seriously.
Multi million transfer deals. Players on thousands. State of the art Stadiums. £100 footballs. Cameras covering all angles of the pitch.
And yet you get an absolute clueless twat running the line. Fuck you football, you're shit.

First you call a sensible and serious post funny and then give me a spam rating. Why? People like you spoil the forum.
Moaning about rating is one of the most chump-ass moves possible on this site. Rise above it, they don't affect anything.

I can not see soldado, Lamela, getting any game time soon, Tim obviously doesn't rate them.
That is my big worry. Tim strikes me as someone who will do it his way regardless and we could end up totally screwed in the summer when our 100 million worth of players either leave or are worthless.

We are the same level we have been for the last 4 seasons. The top 2/3 teams are far better than the rest and we are in the pack chasing 3/4 spot with 4/5 other teams.
Its a bad result but dont give up we are still in the hunt for 4th
It's far from over. We'll be better once we get key players back from injury.

Really no need for that mate.
The man is a legend.
Legend of a Footballer, terrible pundit, at least Gary Neville has the conviction to talk frankly, can accept its a hard decision for the lineman to make but how can he say he think its correct after watching the replay, the mind boggles

You CANNOT start 1 striker up top when you have two wingers who are incapable of scoring goals or delivering fantastic passes in the box. Townsend, Sigurdsson, and Lennon have been exceptionally poor when it comes to end product this season. There is no reason Lamela shouldn't get a run of games when he gets back. How could he be less productive than what we've seen recently from the left, or even the right?

Also, if Paulinho doesn't go straight into the starting XI and Sherwood keeps Bentaleb in the line-up, I'll be deeply disappointed in Tim.

Hull, Everton, and Newcastle are all must wins. No "draw is a good result" nonsense. Hull are an abject side, Everton are without Lukaku, and Newcastle will be missing Cabaye and Remy.
