I really hope people don't overreact to this result - say we equalised against City with Dawson's goal, and we were on top for a while, then the game became equal again and City still scored Jovetic's deflected goal, we'd still have lost and we'd still be on the same points total with the same cack goal difference. Everyone would be like 'we deserved a point, lads played well' or 'city are top of the league for a reason' etc.

I don't mind us being beaten by a better team, as it shows our manager exactly where our weak points are. I don't like seeing decisions taken so the game is out of our hands. Would Man City have won today if the refereeing team had made the correct decisions? We'll never know - and that's what annoys me.

MotD commentator sounds like he's pro-City that's for certain. Tries to make excuses for that shambles of a red card decision.

A lot of harsh comments on Bentaleb. A more experienced manager would have bedded him in more slowly. I don't know weather Tim is being stubborn or not but We have a good prospect on our hands.

Bit of a disaster all round really.

We were both outplayed AND we were screwed by the officials.

I don't know who to be more angry at!

Sounds familiar, doesn't it....

Frustrating that he was so flexible against Swansea sighting their possession as a need to hold the midfield, yet the 6-0 thumping previously and the gifted players running into pockets of space wasn't enough this time..
Yeah, lets match them up, good idea.

Fact is, despite what happened previous to it, 50 minutes into the game we're only 1 down and still in it, after having a goal disallowed. We may still have lost, but without the linesman's intervention we could well have been level.

We should have been two or three down to them last season, but they only took one chance and we won 3-1. The linesman completely ruined our chance of at least getting back into the game.

I'm absolutely astounded that (going by what some people have said) that Sherwood hasn't made more of it, and even said Dawson was offside. Did he actually say that, or did someone typo something? There were only four Man City players playing Dawson onside. Wenger, Mourinho and Rodgers would all have made such a massive song and dance about a decision like that. Yeah, they're all ****s, but they wouldn't care next time a decision like that goes in their favour.

Guys, forget about it. Focus on the rest of the season. We haven't got to play them again until next season now.
If we're lucky they might loan is a player or two to play against their rivals in the runb in lol.

"I think it was a great decision, I think Michael was offside once Ade touches it, but you’ve seen those given and unfortunately it didn’t quite go for us today."

You CANNOT start 1 striker up top when you have two wingers who are incapable of scoring goals or delivering fantastic passes in the box. Townsend, Sigurdsson, and Lennon have been exceptionally poor when it comes to end product this season. There is no reason Lamela shouldn't get a run of games when he gets back. How could he be less productive than what we've seen recently from the left, or even the right?

Also, if Paulinho doesn't go straight into the starting XI and Sherwood keeps Bentaleb in the line-up, I'll be deeply disappointed in Tim.

Hull, Everton, and Newcastle are all must wins. No "draw is a good result" nonsense. Hull are an abject side, Everton are without Lukaku, and Newcastle will be missing Cabaye and Remy.
All 3 of those games will be tough games.
