Following on from Scott Ledger's power trip at White Hart Lane this afternoon, we are hearing that on the way home, he got out of his car and decided to try and direct traffic on the motorway.

(Scott Ledger also has the power to change the time of day, as seen in this picture. (before any of you ****s try and be clever)

Bentaleb didn't have a good game, he's just a kid, it's going to be like that. He has played excellently recently though and had earned his place... I'm intrigued about this magical DM which you speak of though which would of turned the game on it's head... What defensive genius do we have in our squad who didn't play and wouldn't of made everything ok??? Don't kid yourself, they're just better than us, they have a more settled squad, a more settled system behind the scenes and on the pitch, all the money in the world and some absolutely world class talent.

If you're looking to assign blame to a single issue not playing a DM is a pretty deluded one to pick.

So what is the point in having a manager if we just have to accept that certain team are just better? Do you really think Man City are 5 goals better than us?

It is a managers job to set up the team to compete effectively against the opposition and I question whether he done that well enough today.

Benteleb looked like a lost child in that midfield today. There were other options in the squad that would have arguably been more effective.

Watching some of the game back, Tim was constantly shouting at Moussa. He was telling him to squeeze up I think and get closer to the likes of Toure. No one should ever say city play 4-4-2 again. The movement was awesome. If they can find a decent partner for Kompany, they could win the lot. Demichelis is piss poor.

I'm not too fussed about Dawson's effort. It was touch and go really, so can't blame the Lino on that. The sending off was an utter, utter disgrace. toure should have gone first half too.

We were outplayed, but given a rough deal from the officials when it looked like we might get something from it. Those last two goals were disgraceful defending regardless.

Watched the highlights on MOTD. The disallowed goal was the correct decision, the penalty and sending off incorrect.

Having said that we were struggling from the ko by the look of things and worryingly the pundits comments about Dembele and Bentalebs positioning and lack of protection for the defence seem pretty spot on to me.

Come on Sherwood, you've been given a fantastic management opportunity here, surely you have to have a better understanding of the game!

But, but, but...we don't need Dms...we don't...honest!

WHO?
Capoue? I don't know whether you watched the game but he came on and was pretty much the same as Dembele.

I'm sure the manager is massively embarrassed but you should be looking at the whole picture and look at the players and levy and co. Not just the manager... IF you really need to blame someone. We actually got back into it after a shit start and were in it up until the sending off without playing that well... Manchester City are operating on a different level at the moment. If they turned up. Which they did. This was only going one way. Open your eyes.

Yeah I've changed my mind about the disallowed goal. Can see why it wouldn't be given. But the pen is a disgrace. He only reacts when some of the City players look towards him.

lets face it, were we ever going to get a result against a near full strength city team (who look like are going to be better than the side that jose had at chelsea in terms of goals), with the players we had available tonight? Probably not, could be so different if things didnt go against us, but what is more important is that push on from the set back, and get 3pts against Hull on Saturday. There is plenty of better sides of paper than us that are going to get beat by City this season, and you know what if they win the league fair play, could be worse it could be the Rentboys, or Scum.

With regards to us, there is a serious audit needs to be done on the team, far to many bit players, players who arent up to the job, and stop this playing/purchasing players that are going to be square pegs in round holes. No point in buying Soldado if we dont have width that can produce crosses into the box. And with regard to Tim, he'll only be here until the summer, and we start all over against, with this "PLAN"...........

Football's a funny old game, Misfit, me old mucker. I do agree that City were clearly the most likely to win, however, things could have gone so differently. We could have held on to a point had that Dawson goal been allowed, or even grabbed an equaliser if the red card had not have happened. I do think that the red card was the proverbial nail in the coffin, and without that decision we could've got something despite playing poorly. You can still play awfully yet grind out a result. Seen plenty of teams do that over the years.

Nonetheless, I think we'll go on to get a good result against Hull on the weekend. I hope the FA sees sense and rescinds Rose's card. To ban him for that would be criminal.
Oh aye and I'd have happily taken any result with both hands and had a smug little chuckle. Just that, the slight bit of buggery aside in the end, I'm not devastated by this loss. Sending offs aside etc, I feel we were simply beaten by a superior side on the night. It's not a result that will weigh on my mind at all.

I hope the appeal is successful but I'll not hold my breath tbh, such is the FA's laughable track record and consistency on the matters to do with the officials' performance in games.

He reacts to the linesman.
In a way puts himself in a blameless position by not blowing immediately and clearly deferring the decision to the linesman's imterpretation. Cowardly ****!

There is a temptation here to castigate some of the Spurs players and management for this result but while they are not blameless there are other factors:

(1) Man City are the best side in the league.
(2) We were hindered twice by the linesman and the second bad decision put the game out of reach when we were still very much in the game.
(3) Sherwood made an error in playing Sigurdsson ahead of Capoue. He should have moved Eriksen, who was ineffective in the middle, to the left and played Dembele higher up the pitch - and away from our own goal. But hindsight is a wonderful thing!
(4) I think the 6-0 defeat had some form of influence on our confidence going into this game. We were scared to be on the ball for the first 30 minutes.
(5) Bentaleb and Dembele as a midfield partnership has flaws and better sides will exploit it. They're both very left-footed.
(6) Injuries to key players has not helped. I think Sandro, Vertonghen, Townsend and Paulinho would have made a difference. Whether that would be enough to get a result, I'm not so sure...

We will lose Hugo, big Paul and verts come summer. We will then become the next Aston villa. Mid table with Sherwood.

Sorry pal I've had a few tonight, I meant the linesman reacts to the appeals not the ref.

We played with ten men for 60 mins, siggy touched it 4 times and have it away 3 of them.. Offers absolutely nothing, offload him naughton and holtby. Also if the red card is upheld we are back to the shambles of no left back again! Sort it asap
