Rookie team - rookie manager - what on earth else could we expect.
Needs another clear out.
Needs some brains in there somewhere.
We go one way (English and young) and then we U-Turn.
Based on last couple of months how we could do with a certain Caulker or BAE or even the Hudd and Defoe.
Absolute shambles at the moment.

No it does not need a fucking 'clear-out'.

WTF is it with people here - even you?

it needs some stability. It needs the 7 new players whom we bought last Summer to be retained - all of them, along with Vertonghen and Lloris - and allowed to experience a second season in the Premiership wearing a Spurs shirt.

It needs nothing to be done, except to sort out some superior fullbacks (Walker excepted) and to build the entire team around Christian Eriksen. Ideally, a superstar striker would be nice, but realistically we aren't going to be able to afford one of those until we get a bigger stadium.

Our problems are not those of inadequacy. They are problems of instability. We need to leave this squad alone and permit them to become a team. Get Lamela physically strong enough to realise his great potential.Coach Chadli so he can be Erikson's backup in the no. 10 role and also work as winger when required. Settle down the central defensive selection (Chiriches will be a very good footballer). Promote a few from the youth team, Bentaleb-style.

Just keep things stable and stop changing course every 18 months. A 'clear-out' is the very last thing we need.

ERM did palace not just beat chelsea! what with this the top four are superior thing, why is he as a coach not thriving in correcting and planning how to beat and affect games ,
every game ive seen spurs play nearly the same no constructive football not winning second balls no winning headers just no winning, all points for a coach to adress,
players always looking for who they can pass to next?
these points should be dealt with before palyers arrive on the field of play.its like the players are asking us "huh what do i do now"!.
our constant bad performances as under rednapp are simply down to bad coaching or lack of adressing issues apparant to all but the coaching staff

So much noise coming from the non-credible twitter that Sherwood punched a Spurs player. Anyone heard about this?

"The game was finished after two mistakes," he told Sky Sports.

"You can make all the best planning but when you make mistakes so early, we thought the longer we stayed in the game the better for us, but it is finished in two-minutes and we try and get back but they are a good side and they took a lot of belief from the first goal as everyone always does, the first goal is important but we were beaten by the better side today.

"Anyone can make errors it is just a shame we get punished as we did."

Good post - I think we bought good players, have a good squad (if better balanced) and things can turn round quickly with a manager (see what I did there), organisation, some tactics and maybe a couple of players.

And Naughton OUT - that player is shit

So, the glorious win against Utd at OT was a waste of time. Just like last year.

The push for a Champions League spot wasn't entirely dependant on beating or drawing
against the present top four clubs. Looking back the losses at home to Newcastle and West Ham plus a draw against West Brom add up to exactly 8 points which would have made us level with Arsenal and all to play for.

We also should have had at least gained a point at Norwich but there ya go Paula.

We screw up like this quite often. Sad

Then what? Qualify for CL, then get out of it ASAP because we need a clear run to the top four?.

Sorry but I'll never get my head around this outlook. If we don't have a squad to cope with EL (which is apparently piss poor) AND compete in the PL, how the living fuck do we have a squad to cope with the CL (a competition that is MUCH tougher than the EL) AND the PL?

It's not difficult to understand.

Firstly you build a team that can qualify season after season in the top 4, like Arsenal have and then when you do qualify, you "ATTRACT" better players.

not total clearout but there are players that are clearly not good enuf.
big questions over naughton, rose, dawson, siggy, lennon, and few others,
the biggest question tho is the coaches, if they cannot get players to gel and play comfortable on the ball without unforced errors then there has to be questions asked of the coaching team itself.

Tim Sherwood responded to the Tottenham fans' taunts of "where is our manager?" by insisting he was not hiding from them or shirking responsibility in Spurs' 4-0 defeat to Liverpool.

The head coach, who was a visible presence on the touchline during earlier games, chose to sit in the stands throughout the thrashing.

But Sherwood, who has spent more time watching on from various directors' boxes in recent weeks, said he hoped he would learn more after another defeat completed a dreadful season against top-four opposition.

Spurs have played eight league games against the sides in the Champions League positions, losing seven, taking only one point, scoring just two goals and conceding 27 and supporters turned on the head coach in the final few minutes at Anfield.

But Sherwood said: "They are entitled to having their opinion. Listen, I have sat up there for the last few games and I get a better view of the game and obviously it is a learning curve for me and when the team is not doing well they want to see you.

"They know me well enough to know that I am not shirking any responsibility here. I am in it with the team and it is my responsibility as well as [that of] the guys on the pitch.

"At 2-0 and the game going away from us and then 3-0 I think I am going to learn more about my players by sitting up there and getting a good look at rather than getting involved and maybe getting myself in trouble on the touchline.

"We see enough of me ranting and raving and it is time for me to start assessing and taking a step back and looking what we need to do for the future. Because our performances against teams in the top four, anyone above us, have not been good enough.

"I want to instil belief into the players and let them know they are not inferior to the sides they are stepping on the pitch against but the stats don't lie and the return of points [against the top four] is not good enough."

Problem is that teams far worse than us have done far better against Liverpool in recent times. It's not belief, but a simple matter of the players you pick for the team you play. In this case he picked a fluffy team and we got spanked. He wanted to go toe to toe, but we don't have the punch for that. It's the old adage that you've got to win the midfield to earn the right to play, and with that team there was slim chance of that against a team as well drilled as Liverpool. Without any dog we predictably got dogged. We've got six games left, nothing really to play for, TS knows now he's failed his dress rehearsal, there's no point doing anything now, and in the summer we'll get someone else.

Only other thing I'd say is he wanted to do it, he gave his best, and so however pissed off we are we should at least give respect for that.

What right has Sherwood got to blame the players. The bloke is a mug!!!!

You go to Anfield with Bentaleb and Sig playing centre mid and Sandro and Dembele sitting on the bench.

Looking at the team sheet I knew before kick off we'd lose!

We have Soldado running channels but our midfield playing balls short. Then Soldado drops short and our midfield play long balls. WTF is going on????

We're better off without a manager.

look at breddan rogers and how he has gotten some real quality and also improved young aterling mom today.
We now have 2 candidates for same roll in world cup squad, arron lennon and andros townsend, and both of our players could not tie the younger less experienced sterling? at the beginning of season sterling had no final pass, but if you follow the lads performances he has developed some real quality in his approach play and final pass .
in comparison lennon atil doesnt look a threat against even the weaker sides. sterling always seems to make somthing happen even if he doesnt receive the ball.
This imo highlights the importance of a coach who adresses issues before players enter the field of play

Look at the shittttttt players you've just mentioned. We all agree they're not good enough yet Timmy Mallet puts them all in the first team!

Once a gooner always a gooner!

I disagree with your point of view entirely Redknapp was never good enough
But it absolutely highlights 2 very important things
1) players play better when they believe in the manager and our players needed something cos they didn't not understand Ramos
2) Confidence is massive in the game and we have no confidence and players are feeling under fire from the manager. Playing spontaneously with freedom from doubt makes the vital difference

How was Redknapp never good enough? Who in god knows how many years has done a better job of managing the club? Certainly he has been the best Premiership manager we have ever had.

I just cannot understand your opening statement :alien:
