Go on and make the best out of it. Not too many changes for me.

If no one else is fit and I have to pick from yesterdays group:

---------------------Lloris--------------------
Naughton----Kaboul--------Chiriches----Fryers--
--------------------Sandro--------------------
-----------Chadli--------------Paulinho---------
--------------------Eriksen--------------------
-----------Adebayor----------Kane-------------

With a moving, creative midfield. defensively flat four: --Chadli----Sandro----Paul-----Eriksen-- , offensively the diamond or a 4-3-3 with Ade and Kane dropping deep.

All based on Mondays performance with a bit more protection.

Subs: Friedel, Vejlkovic, Rose, Bentaleb, Sigurdsson, Townsend, Lennon (prefered Lamela)

A strong midfield is a must for me. Can't see Dembele coming back and I suspect Sherwood will go the same way again, but I'd go:

Lloris

Naughton
Kaboul
Vlad
Rose

Sandro
Paulinho
Eriksen

Dembele
Adebayor
Chadli

Would love to keep Kane in, but away from home we need a robust set up. Recent good away performances at Swansea and Newcastle spring to mind in approach for this one. Although I recognise that side doesn't offer that much pace, could always mix it up after a solid start as I'm sure West Brom will come out all guns blazing given their precarious position.

However I'd me more than happy to see Kane getting another chance, that's only what I would do - ideally - at the moment.

I'm tired of 3 in midfield to be honest. We just can't make it work right now. It brings the team back to the AVB era and their brains instantly switch to "pass sideways and shoot from 50 yards". When we played 442 we'd get scored on once or twice but we were starting to score 2/3 a game. Liverpool and City both play 2 up top and they're the two best sides in the EPL right now. Ade and Kane both have high workrates and will drop back so it's not as if we'd be left for dead in midfield.
It's West Brom, they are awful. Same lineup as Monday with Townsend in for Lennon and maybe Dembele in for Chadli.

Jesus mate - Townsend in for Lennon (ok neither are pulling up trees)?...and you want Chadli out of the side? :woot:

Did we not play a 4-3-3 away to Newcastle and Swansea? I thought we did, unless I've remembered wrongly.

And its fine setting up like we did last night when another inferior team is coming to defend, sit deep and let you enjoy all of the ball.

West Brom away will be a totally different game.

I'd keep things largely the same really. The back four seems to pick itself largely based on who is fit. I don't think Rose was as bad as some tried to make out last night, but if Fryers got a shot then it wouldn't be the end of the world.

In front of that I would keep things largely the same. Lets see if last night was a flash in the pan. Sandro needs to come in though to offer a bit more defensive nous in midfield. Apart from that, Chadli was an interesting selection in centre mid and quietly impressed me. As he is comfortable going left or right and can use both feet it opens up the whole field of play so much more, why not give him another go in there and see if he could be a viable option going on from here? People might not agree with him being stationed on the left, but Eriksen is doing well drifting off the line and finding pockets of space. For now, he can stay there. Kane now deserves a run till the end of the season to gain more confidence, get used to the PL and show what he can do at this level. No reason to split up the Kane/Ade partnership at this point.

The only inclusion is who you pick on the right, and its a coin toss between Lennon and Townsend based on who is available. Unless Tim has another youth teamer he wants to unleash on the first team stage...

The danger may lie in WBA pressing us high up the pitch, we still looked like we could be pressured into more mistakes with our lazy approach to giving team mates an out ball, i would favour 3 in midfield too, just to keep it tight and soak up some initial pressure.

Well if we go that way again I'd be fine with it I guess - but still would opt for three in the middle ideally speaking, but might as well stick with Lennon then if that's the way he goes again. He works a lot harder than Townsend and being away from home there's always more defensive work to be done generally speaking.

With Adebayor dropping deep, in the knowledge that Kane is still up top providing that outlet, and Eriksen drifting inside a lot of the time, you create a three or even a four in there when we have the ball.

True, but some will say he won't have the discipline to do that when we don't have it.

I just worry that we could be a little light in that area. West Brom have some tricky little players, and afford them too much space they could hurt us.

Suppose we could out gun them if we're on it.

Ah, did he mate?

No problems with that, he deserves another start. I was just posting what I would do - ideally.
Yeah, was just trying to give a bit of info. Said well done Harry, your playing next sats now. Just pop him in for Dembele and go with that team

If all we have for this game are the guys from yesterday and the guys on the bench, I'd go with..

Hugo
Naughton Kaboul Vlad Rose
Sandro
Chadli Paulinho
Kane Ade Eriksen
I'd leave Chadli in the middle for this game with Eriksen out wide. Ideally I would have Lamella in Kane's spot, but at this point I'm better off putting a unicorn in that position. With Kane on the pitch, it also seems to let Ade rome around, and I think that interchange between the front three could have just as much impact as the lack of an out and out wide player anywhere on the front of the pitch.

Just realised its basically the same line up as that of the op. I guess great minds think alike and all that.

I loved seeing Ade playing as a deep lying play maker against Sunderland :ROFLMAO: reminded me of the days when VDV would drop back to the keeper to receive the ball :ROFLMAO:

I read somewhere on the forums that lamela could be back for this game, I doubt it but if thats the case then

-------------Lloris
Naughton Kaboul Chiriches Rose
-------------Sandro
Lamela Paulinho Eriksen Chadli
------------Adebayor

If lamela is not back then I would replace him with Kane (not useless lennon or try to hard townsend) then go 442 and have eriksen and chadli play on wings
