I think about what it would've been like if we finished out the season with a real manager, AVB or otherwise!
Well I guess we will never know. Though certainty with managers is uncertain (sorry, sounds like a crap line from the unspeakably trite and awful Avatar that I am being subjected to). I think we can change the managers all we want, but the problem lies in poor judgement by and around Levy (for all the other good things he has brought). But in this mad world I am rapidly coming to the point where I feel we should abandon the stability that I cherish and just go in for 52 managers per year that we can hire for a week from Monday to Saturday (we have to have a day of rest, don't we?). Make it 57 and we can be sponsored by Heinz.

Fortunately being out of position got us our goal. And a good 'un at that.
No. He was doing what he was supposed to be doing in a formation with a narrow midfield when we attack down the right and the right back is staying in a defensive position. Had the ball not gone to him, he would have jogged back down the pitch.

Then he would have been out of position.

Sell him.

We did with
Carrick
Berbatov
Keane
Modric
VDV
Bale

You"d just loan Lloris to Arse or Chel$ea or whoever. Guess you play a lot of PL Manager....because i can find no one as hard as i try who agrees with your illogical theory.

Is Mike Yarwood still around. Haven't asked him yet.
I'm not surprised you can't find anyone. After all, there's only you in your padded cell and I'm just a voice in your head. I've never played football manager, either.

How about speedy loans?

It's a game where a so called football fan believes that a PL team should loan it's number one keeper out to any CL team.......in order to keep him.

Makes perfect sense.....to anyone in a straight jacket.

Not unlike yours..............
Actually, surprisingly, not everything that comes out of my mouth is bullshit. I know it would surprise some people though since every one disagrees with the facts of the sherwood debate. But w/e its all good. I dont let results that are only because of brilliance from Ade and Eriksen get in the way of shit performances under one of the EPL's biggest pricks.

Audere Est Facere. If anything, i'm afraid Sherwood thinks by that motto alittle too much.

I really don't get why anyone would hate Sherwood. I too feel he is a little out of his depth tactically and we look a shambles defensively sometimes but I don't blame him for taking the job and he has steadied the ship. Always talks straight after games and has made some brave decisions in giving some players their chance. He needs help on tactics and setting teams up to meet different opposition but I think he will get another job quite easily. Allardyce on the other hand I would not let work at my club on the catering stand. Don't blame the spammers for wanting him out.

I agree with most of what you are saying about Sherwood however I think the reason many dislike him is that he doesn't have any insight into his own abilities. He is still standing there talking himself up and has steadfastly refused to be a number 2 even though that might be the best thing for him. Yes he has got results, but the manner of which is what is grating. I have not seen any evidence of things being worked on in training translating into the game scenario and we generally look disorganised and a mess. He himself has said that he is "learning on the job" with us - something I'm not sure the board not the fans have patience for. He may well turn out to be a good manager in the future but he needs time to gain that experience...

Play poor and win under other managers - progress and grinding out results.

Win and play poor under sherwood and avb- we are crap and the manager is to be blamed.

A good point, if the poor play and grinding is the exception rather than the rule.

It's not though and that is the main problem.

I was more than happy to have Sherwood at the helm if we were able to see some tangible progress in performance, in the same way I'd have been happy for AVB to stay had we seen the same.

I'm sorry to say but we have seen none of that with either really. We have gained points, but the Football has been uninspiring.

As a fan, I believe we need to be inspired to really bring out the best in us. Supporting the team, for me, is a given, but to really make the ground rock the fans need inspiration whether it be Champagne Football or 'heart on the sleeve' effort. Just look how the Orcs responded to the effort that 10 man Stoke put in. The players then fed off that.

The inspiration would then go some way to exorcising the poison element we have in our fanbase. If the majority are yelling the team on, no one's going to listen to a few malcontents, more likely to tell them to shut up and back the team.

All it needs is a discernible improvement in our manner of play, it's not required in every game, but it is required.

Stoke had won their last four and were unbeaten in their last six at home

It wasn't a good performance over all but that is worth baring in mind and we should still consider the result as a good win

And only 2 other teams have won in the league away to stoke this season.

Sure, I'll wear the straight jacket, while you wear the strait-jacket. You know, that's the thing about Little Englanders, their marvellous proficiency with the Enlish language. That's why we need to continue with our plucky British manager, whatever his coaching credentials.
PS. You might want to concede as this is getting boring.

I have just caught the MoTD highlights and something bothered me, our left back is getting crucified by just about everyone in the ground , he is getting kicked from pillar to post and finally when another stoke player takes him out he reacts and follows the guy and ends up pushing him, que a load of bollocks by mark hughes.
What bothers me is after that tackle on Danny Rose why wasn't the stoke player surrounded by our players giving him a verbal slapping at the very least, why weren't there fuming at the treatment their team mate was getting? Just imagine that the other way round or if Danny was a chelsea or Man Utd player, maybe they are all too bloody nice.
