"I just have to wait to see the chairman [next week] and see what the future holds. We have already discussed pre-season and I have given a list of players to the chairman and [the technical director] Franco Baldini of the players I would recommend we keep, the ones I recommend we leave and the ones I recommend we bring in.

"I am not sure how we are getting on with that list. Until I speak to him, they have not given me any indication on how they are moving forward with that."

He was always going to go at the end of the season. A section of our fans hated him as soon as he took over and, whilst he was doing OK, their bile was drowned out. As soon as he started hitting difficulties ther job was so much easier.

I think Tim is out of his depth, doesn't help himself with silly stuff he says and should not be our manager next season but, to blame everything on him and only him is silly. Levy shoulders a fair chunk of the blame and the boo boys amongst us too. I don't care how many negative ratings this post gets, this stuff needs saying. As long as we continue to be a fickle set of fans, criticising managers before they've had a chance and pressure Levy into pulling the trigger, we'll never get where we want to be.

Harry was hounded out because some fans never liked him, same has happened with Tim, happend with AVB and will happen with the next guy.

Just look at how players like Bentaleb and Kane are slated when, if they played for any other club, they would be cheered twice as loud, here, they have to perform twice as well to get a clap.

AVB was right when he said the fans suck the ball towards our goal and Tim is right as well.

We need to take a long hard look at ourselves

Let's all rejoice in the knowledge that this clown is gone after Sunday. The result of the game will no longer be relevant.

This is the shit that drives me crazy with Tim. Tim likes to paint himself as a no holds barred guy who speaks the truth, but that whole press conference screams media spin to me

Tim paints it as walking into the the boot room and getting the reseponse from the players like they are a bunch of 10 year olds talking back to their divorced mum's new man.

"Oi, we don't have to listen to you. You fucking wank you aren't even our real manager. You'll be sacked soon enough."

But he says the players came to him to tell him that he was sacked.

Isn't it more likely that the players who have been hearing all the rumors in the media and would also be catching rumors from their agents actually went for clarification. I would be much more inclined think the conversations went something like this:

In the manager's office:"Hey Skipper, you have a minute? I have been hearing alot of talk in the press and around the clubhouse that you won't be around next season. I just wanted to know what is going on."

If you are a squad you want the players going to the manager and asking what is going on instead of speculating in the press, that is how it is supposed to work. The managers job is to make sure they still remain focused on the task at hand.

But that type of situation doesn't paint the picture of Tim as a victim and doesn't appeal to his agenda. So he spins it to make it seem like he is some sort of misunderstood martyr who just needs to go somewhere that appreciates him.

There is a difference between being honest and being manipulative and i am not sure Tim understands that difference.

I don't agree with everything you say here, the team has not had any vociferous booing all year, maybe the odd boo here or there, but nothing that should have any effect on the team and their performances. Fan criticism doesn't really reach the chairman and Harry was certainly NOT hounded out by the fans at all. I would say most were a bit surprised when he got the sack. Bentaleb and Kane are also not slated, they are average players and that is all, they always get our support.

He's just a fuckweasel.

Is it not that see-through?

How he can be put in the same breath as any of our other managers in terms of media presence is beyond me. Even Harry!

Harry had a few detractors in his time but nothing like the number of Tim detractors. I'm not saying that just because everyone thinks a certain way they are right, but you've got to ask yourself if there are so many people genuinely opposed to him managing the club what exactly are his redeeming features (that aren't immediately expunged by everything else he says/does/believes in?)

Bit early to adjudge either player as average IMHO.

Imagine if the new manager gives Levy and Baldini a list, but he mixes it up with Sherwood's and all Hell breaks loose :eek::eek::eek:

Nearly felt sorry for him, nearly!

then he has to go all self promoting billy big bollox at the end and say 'HE' has the best win percentage out of anyone implying that if he was coach from the start we'd be right up there. No one else couldve done better

Yep I enjoyed all those early cup exits and amateur football headless chicken performances, cheers Tim.

Now kindly fack off Monday morning ta(y)

That's not been my experience at the Lane this season - been loads more booing than I can remember previously. Even minor booing will impact on the team, of course it does and if you think Levy doesn;t canvass fan opinion before making decisions you;re mad. Also, the Harry situation is not my memory at all, one of us is misremembering, I'm not going to say it is you as I'm getting old but for me, there was a vocal minority who wouldn;t stop banaging on about him going until he did. Bentaleb and Kane are 20 and 21 and would be lauded anywhere else. They are not "average" but hugely gifted youngsters who have huge potential but need support to realise it, support our fans do not always give them

You're actually out of your mind!

Because I do not think someone who has held a senior administrative and coaching role at the club is equivalent to the teaboy, or that that role has not allowed him demonstrate skill sets that would enable senior management to judge whether he has qualities that would make him suitable for the role of head coach?

Swansea have just appointed one of their players as manager; Kenny Dalglish won the treble in his first season as player-manager (and has been progressively less effective in every job he has had since).

The idea that Sherwood’s appointment was absurd is, well, absurd.

It is those who go into a slathering rage at Sherwood no matter what he says or does who should be seeking psychiatric assistance, if only for anger management (though in some of the more extreme cases I would not rule out delusional psychosis).

Before anyone goes out and says lets blame Levy, because lbh everyone does... How do we know Sherwood hasn't been told? Just cause TS himself is saying? Maybe trying to save face or make himself look good at expense of club and put blame down to club?
