Good point about the club being in turmoil. We need someone who can sort that out. That's pretty much their first and most important job on their first day.

Honestly, that could be Poch without any issue, maybe he comes in and by sheer force of personality everyone buys into what he is preaching.....Despite being in the PL and the guys on the squad knowing who he is from playing Soton. He is still the candidate that comes in with the least name recognition.

Maybe he comes in an everyone loves him, the word out of Soton is the players seem to think of the man as a form of saint. I personally would just feel better if we also gave him a voice in the locker room because as you said, we managed to toss that into turmoil this season and it needs to get straightened out, giving him an advocate amongst the players (as FdB would have already in house) could go a long way to ensuring he is successful in rebuilding the locker room.

All fans turn into turd if the team produces rubbish displays week in week out. Look at Newcastle, despite having 50k fans the ground was referred to as a morgue recently. Even my local team (Middlesbrough), the fans used to sing their hearts out when they had Ravenelli, Juninho and co and were in the prem ... now you can hear a penny drop.
Trouble is, we started going shit and twisted once that first season of a decade+ of sucking had ended. We've been getting progressively shitter with each yr since then.

I don't think anyone knows what they want.

Everyone wanted LVG until he starting courted Utd and we found out he has a bit of temper. FDB sounded great until we found out he play less inspiring football than AVB. Pochettino was hated at Espanyol and almost got the relegated. A lot are hoping for Benitez although this place went mental at the thought of hiring him prior to AVB. Even if we did hire him i'm sure we'd still call him FSW.

Decisions, decisions.

I do.

So it looks like its Poch....do people honestly think he is the best we could come up with , after what must be months to prepare and look for a new manager. Yep he may be the messiah and hopefully he is, but what a risk and Levys head has to be on the block if this goes tits up

Now now, no Q&A's lest everyone join in and we end up with the mess we got last time around :(

Well, Dr Spurrific, seen as though we've properly brought him through and my hypothesis has been thoroughly tested and disproved, I have no other option but to concede to your prognosis.

I hold my hands up. Fair play. You're on super solid ground on this one.

You're worth every penny btw. Get a more comfortable couch though...and do something about the flies.

That's just you stinking up the joint attracting them. Do you notice them everywhere you go?

I can see the positive in all 3 of our targets. Surely im not alone?
Just because you favour one candidate doesnt mean the others are going to be terrible, they are all good managers. I can see us being successful (whatever that means) with any of them.

In all seriousness seeing fully grown men having meltdowns because the club might not appoint who they want is absurd.
This is all sherwood's fault tbh.

*mini fist-pumps at still finding ways to have a dig, post-sacking*

We've had 6 months to asses our best options! Do you honestly think we haven't spoken to any managers or their agents while Sherwood was employed. You need to wake up and smell the coffee. The same thing happens when teams tap up players. You think Real Madrid waited for Tottenhams permission to approach Bale? Surely you're not that naive.

Exactly Mr Breezer! This is the norm in football that's when agents do their job and earn their living. All reps for all managers have been spoken to. It never stops in football.

what is all this "we had 6 months to look for a new manager" that people are saying?

It IS against the law to approach anyone directly for a position someone is already in. Fact.

That is why we distanced ourselves when Ajax came out and said we had made contact.

If they're smart, then they knew what they were doing.

I would take FdB further talk in the media, as an attempt to rekindle talks i.e when he said "when the season is finished I will sit down and talk". Yet the damage seems to have been done

However, it isn't against the law to approach someone indirectly (or for them to approach us directly).

Whether approaches in either direction were made or not, we've certainly had plenty of time to check out potential managers.
