Lallana is so overated, 26, journeyman who had one good season, reminds me of Charlie Adam at Blackpool

I would take a punt at 10-12m but 26m or so is just barmy
Not sure you can call him a journeyman considering he came through the Saints academy.

I wouldn't pay the values being banded around for him but he would improve our squad, hopefully at the expense of Lennon or Townsend

I think we have a better shot at Shaw than Lallana. Shaw is still very young, and might want to have a couple more years with a manager he likes and trusts, now that that manager is at a bigger club. He can still get a bigger move at some point in his career. Lallana, on the other hand, is at the point in his career when time is about to run out. I'm sure he'll rather play for a team that challenged for the title this year.
What you say makes sense. Maybe he will look at how Bale came on by moving to a better club but within it still being able to develop. Go to Manu or Chelsea and he will be expected to hit the ground running. However I doubt he will see it this way

What i mean by journeyman just to clarify is someone who has been around for years and hasn't done anything special, Lallana had an amazing season but the Lallana of the previous years Saints would have bitten our hand off if we had offered 6-8m imho

oh, by journeyman you don't mean what everyone else means by journeyman... Figures.

careful, or people will start to think you don't know what you're on about. Not me. I absolutely know you don't know what you're on about.

A journeymen in the footballing sense usually refers to a player who has played for several different clubs with no real loyalty to any club, a good example being Leon Clarke, currently of Wolves. It doesn't usually refer to a player who has been around for years without achieving much until one season, that would be a "one-season wonder".

Had it not been for Pochettino, we wouldn't stand a chance. Hopefully he'll rather want to play for him than the madness that is LVG.

So the Goat claims that Southampton are having a fire sale and everyone wants out.

This seemed unlikely, so I called Ralph Krueger this afternoon to see if it was true and he confirmed that all of their players bar one is available for sale, that one exception being Artur Boruc.

Apparently, he's a keeper.

I think I'm going to go home from work early. I've got a bit of a journeyman. :(

Can see us getting Schneiderlin if Sandro leaves, but hey..lets not stray too far off topic guys.

Schneiderlin would replace Dembele - he's more a deep sitting ballplayer.

Wanyama played in the Sandro role next to Schneiderlin.

Schneiderlin and Lovren are the two I really want from Soton.

You're kidding yourself. While the ground may well be half empty when we go 3-0 down, if we score, the remaining crowd gets excited and starts cheering. It's the events on the pitch which drive the excitement. In the Palace-Liverpool game, the support from the Palace fans was constant, (as it was in every game I saw them involved in) even while they were going 3-0 down. It clearly wasn't any help then was it? It wasn't any help when they were at the bottom of the table was it? The support was remarkable, but it wasn't particularly influential. You may be able to quote players saying how important it is ( from any club), but that is because they don't want to get on the wrong side of the fans who make most noise, because if it is turned against them, they know they'll suffer.

So positive support doesn't affect the players but negative support does?
