Mexico has been awfully impressive thus far in this tournament. Rock solid at the back and Ochoa has been one of the top keepers at this WC. Netherlands better be on high alert for that one.

I hate the way commentators keep referring to the 3-5-2 as a 5-3-2 when it clearly isn't the latter. The wing backs have to defend, yes, but their primary duty is as a support role to stretch the play. They make it sound like it's a negative formation.

The formation has come back into fashion with a few teams like Costa Rica, Mexico, Chile and Holland using it quite successfully.

Not toally sure if I'm crediting it correctly but I think the resurgence is from Serie A where a fair few teams have adopted it in the last few years. Walter Mazzarri was the one to kick start it in Italy when at Napoli, using Maggio and Zuniga.

It's my favourite formation and one that I think Italy should use by default. Apparently we'll be using it tomorrow.

Silly, silly challenge. Can break a guy's leg doing that.

Who had placed a bet on Rebic getting the next red card.....or wait, was that next goal?

There is no God. Mexico beats Croatia and advances all because of the United States beating Panama to let Mexico into the tournament. The US gets our hearts broken in the final 30 seconds of stoppage time and now we need to hope Portugal doesnt score 5 goals(which you know they will, btw) or to get a result against the best team in the world.

Nah, come on B1, Falcao was mustard at Porto, it's why Atletico bankrupt themselves buying him. At Moutinho is a great player but hasn't been as good at Monaco.

Lets not pretend everything AVB did was a fluke. He did fucking wonders for Bale and anyone who thinks otherwise is called Tim Sherwood or harry Redknapp.
Im not pretending AVB was a fluke but ask anyone who watches Falcao at atletico he became the complete striker at atletico

Under AVB he was simply the best striker in the air in the world(personally I cant remember anyone better than him in the air off the top of my head, his technique is amazing) and going forward in to the box but was poor with his back to goal and being involved in play at atletico he changed that and became more of the complete package

I'd be more worried about Ghana to be honest.

Brazil came through it then. Looked a little better than previously but against one of the worst teams in the tourno. No better in the second half than the first in my opinion. Still need to improve dramatically.

Happy for Mexico. Should be two very good last 16 matches between the group A and B teams.

Someone talk me off the ledge. I just have a feeling Logi Low will not fucking cooporate and the US will lay a massive egg after getting its hearts broken and we'll be knocked out.

I dont give a shit if its cheating, I will be bitterly dissapointed if Jurgen and Jogi dont work something out so we draw the game and both advance.
