Soldado for me. Still think we have a player. Surround him by players with a brain and quick passing such as Lamela and Eriksen instead of Townsend and Lennon and I'm hopeful he can do the business.
Lamela aswell. Watched him for years. Top talent and hope he shows what he can do in a spurs shirt.

Poor Danny rose. Newest scapegoat. He's the reason Soldado scored 2 goals or so from open play, broke lamela's back, got capoue injured in training with a bad tackle, cloaks paulinho in an invisbile vest, makes jan sulk, compresses vlad so he cant win headers, scares kaboul and dawson so much he makes them jittery by watching them on tv. i hearhe gave Ade the beanie which got him exiled from the team with AVB. The legendary defensive disaster called danny rose somehow from the confines of his injury bed at home was somehow responsible for the 6-0 tonking by city, 5-0 bashing at home by liverpool, 4-0 spanking by chelsea and of course 3-0 stuffing by west ham.
Really tired of the Rose jokes and slating. Its part of the herd mentality on SC. Boring.

As much as I love the topic of this thread, I feel we have already covered it in 1 or 2 earlier threads this summer? However that's more a question for the mod's than for me.
I generally believe a lot in those players who position for position are arguably better than their Southampton equivalents from last season.
Lloris, Walker, (the old) Vertonghen, maybe Chiriches, Capoue, Sandro, Paulinho, Lamela, Eriksen, Soldado and Adebayor are all players who can surpass the Southampton equivalents of last season, thus those are the players I'm excited about.
Most of all I've been excited about Capoue for a long time, and he still is far up on the list for me, but witnessing Lamela's actions of late where he shows real excitement and also team building with Sandro and Soldado is really inspiring.

I do agree with this. I'll say that I think Rose needs to show far more to have a long term future with us, and I find it unlikely that he will make those improvements, but as I said the other day on another thread the double standards when judging him compared to Walker on the other side is pretty bad. Bar the lazy tracking back, Walker's output in attack and defence is about the same - not really good enough currently. We need far more in actual quality from both the fullback positions.
Many others could be lumped in as performing equally badly in all truth, but Walker is a close comparison based on the position they play.
