Maybe this is where people are getting it wrong by assuming Chiriches is off if we sign another CB? Maybe, and yes I'm clutching at straws, but maybe Poch has seen enough of Vlad to determine he's 'defensively suspect', so a massive risk (at times) in the middle. However, the lad is silky on the ball, loves to carry it from deep, and actually has bloody good pace.

Maybe Poch sees him as a RB int the making & everyone has it completely wrong when assuming it's curtains for Vlad?
I like the optimism but I don't think so. I think what Poch wants is essentially wing backs, and chiriches isn't really built for that.

You're kidding ? Demichelis is a superb cb. Instrumental in both city winning the league and Argentina getting to the final.

What he's losing in pace he easily made up for in his reading of the game.
Really? Thought he was very average all season with perhaps a good end to the season. I got the impression most city fans thought the same?

I thought he was very unfairly bashed. With some gifs of his infrequent mishaps giving a wrong impression of his overall performance over the course of the season.

Are you also confirming Soldado will score from open play. You're taking ITK to a whole new level :)

And soldado scored from open play today !! Anyway i think mateo musacchio would be a great signing !! But his price is a worrying issue .. he will cost more than vertonghen !!

Vertonghen only had one year on his deal, as did Eriksen, hence why both were bargains.

You're talking about the Mr Daniel Levy who got £6m for Mido when he was needing XXXL shorts.

Ha ha. And here's what Niko Kranjcar thinks of it:

Kranjcar also claims that Levy is more interested in profits than players and makes the players suffer while he holds out for every last penny in transfer fees.

"I know from my own experience how difficult these people are and how hard it is to break out of a contract with them.

"Remember Berbatov? And it was the same with me: they held me back for two years, until finally my new club paid what they were asking, and not a pound less.

"That is their speciality: they set unreasonably high transfer demands, but the absurd thing is they always get what they ask for.

What's the fee for this Muchasio or however the hell you spell his name?

Also, said it in the game thread and will say it here. He signs and £5-£10 into the coffers depending on my funds.

So what mate? The cost of players isn't for us to worry about, just how good he is, or whether he's what we need. That's what we need to worry about. As somebody else said, and it's worth taking into account if you're concerned about the fee. This is a guy who (apparently) has a €50mil release clause in his contract.

you can't compare Jan's price to Musacchio's. Jan was playing in the eredvisie, clubs have much, much less money there, hence why transfer fees for players coming from there are very modest.
