I don't look at it as "dismissing" any player - more like he is choosing different players. To me thats a big difference. When we get rid of a CM, it won't necessarily be because Pochettino does not rate that player, more likely that he rates other players more (or just as much, and we need to sell 1-2)

I also assume Pochettino has seen enough tape on our players to know their basic strengths and weaknesses. I don't think anyone is making these decisions blindly.

I agree. By 'dismissing', I didn't mean in terms of quality but need.

If we could pull of Schneiderlin and Musacchio than that would have to be our best window under Levy considering we have held on to all of our key players and hired a terrific young manager

I really don't want to lose Sandro. I think people are forgetting just how good a player he is. Fitness is a worry but I think he's just been unlucky with injuries recently rather than any longstanding problem. The beast is spurs!

I think people forget because of the few games he actually plays in. His videos, and Twitter pictures are quite funny though.

Totally agree. We would be stocked at each position with a good blend of youth, upside and proven talent. Definitely would be a transfer window that could be viewed as a building block for great things in the future.

And soldado scored from open play today !! Anyway i think mateo musacchio would be a great signing !! But his price is a worrying issue .. he will cost more than vertonghen !!
I wouldn't worry too much as you won't be writing the cheque!

People here are grossly underrating the talent that Dembele possesses. There's a reason someone like Soldado, whose played with some of the best players on the planet, said upon his arrival that Dembele was the player that most impressed him. Dembele's hip issue clearly has hampered his progression, but his dribbling and tackling skills when he is fit are absolute top class. I'm hoping he'll come in healthy and hungry to fight for his place, because when he's at his best, he's a top class player.

For me, Dembele's ball retention and dribbling, coupled with Paulinho's ability to score goals, trumps keeping Sandro for his defensive abilities in the CDM role. Neither Schneiderlin, nor Capoue are goal-scorers, or dribblers who can beat multiple men, but they are very good ball recyclers, and are better passers than Sandro. For that reason, Sandro will be the odd man out.

I would be pleased but the window won't be a complete success imo unless we buy a striker.

I know very few agree with me but we are relying on Soldado completely turning it around and becoming a decent No. 9 in the PL. I think everyone knows my opinion on that so I won't bore everyone again with it.

However, even if he proves me wrong, Ade is off to the ANC in Jan, so if Soldado gets injured we are left with only Kane. It's very difficult to sign players in Jan and I think not buying a striker this window will
be a big mistake. With the EL and other cup competitions Kane will still get plenty of game time.

I just can't see him getting shot of capoue ahead of dembele, sandro or paulinho tbf. Not after capoue's pre-season form.

Paulinho
Sandro
Dembele
Capoue

I would think it'd be that selling order, knowing poch.

He hasn't run his eye over Paulinho yet - so couldn't have formed an opinion (based on real life - i.e. training ground - observation, and not TV World Cup matches). Also, when you say "knowing Poch", what exactly do you mean? Figure of speech, or you know him? (genuine question, by the way).

From what I know of him, having watched many s'ton games throughout last season wishing we could play like them.

I'd like paul to work out herebut cant' see it unless he changes his game quite drastically.

Third party ownership apparently holding up the Musacchio deal. In this case you've got three parties (agent, river plate and villarreal) all owning one third each but with Villarreal holding the decisive stake. If the Mangala to City deal is anything to go by, this could take some time to resolve with each party possibly arguing over their share. A 15m move leaves them all with 5m each which I assume, Villarreal will not be happy about (given they'd struggle to replace him for that price) but the other two would be delighted. At least this time, Levy has started the process early and thus learned from the Damiao and Moutinho affairs.

Personally, my sexual orientation is such that I would not be interested in pulling off either Schneiderlin or Musacchio - let alone both of them in a somewhat gruesome threesome.

Not for me, I think far too often he simply flatters to deceive. The odd good day nowhere near compensates for the poor ones
His dribbling skills should be useful but he seems to have no purpose, he'll beat a player with no apparent thought what to do if he goes past him, he then dithers and then tries to beat another player, he either ends up a blind alley and loses possession or meanders across the pitch slowing our attacks down and so they fizzle out
He doesn't score many goals. neither does he create any, he slows play down, he lacks vision, lacks decisiveness and even though he can be a decent harrier and tackler he is also prone to bundling players over and giving away needless fouls in dangerous areas
I know Sandro has had a few injury issues but given a choice of who to keep give me Sandro every time
