I think this signing will still happen, why?? because tottenham and his agent must be advising him and surely wouldn't hang him out to dry.

To move Vlad on before Dawson would be a clusterfuck of a decision, regardless of whether it could get us MS. Kind of defeats the object of signing Musacchio.

Not really. With Moustachio, Dier, Kaboul and Vertonghen we can probably afford to offload both Chiriches and Dawson if that's what Poch wants.

Personally I'd be sad to see Chiriches go without him being given a real chance, but if it means Schneiderlin coming in then fair enough.

Just reading that Southampton forum and I think we have all been there with players who want to leave when the fans want them to stay. The problem is there is always a bigger fish and in this case that big fish is us.

It's pretty clear that Schneiderlin was going to leave and then it got pulled at the last minute due to the backlash from the Southampton fans. Looking at it from Schneiderlin's perspective I can understand his frustration when he watches the team get ripped apart and when it is his time he is then told he can't leave when he thought he was leaving just for the chairman to save face.

Koeman can spin it all he wants but Schneiderlin wants out and ultimately I am sure that is what will happen.

You'd feel comfortable with that? The odds, seeing as what's happened to Kaboul last few years are of a reoccurrence. We could have Dier as only backup for CB, that looks very worrying for me.

They've singled Schneiderlin out for special treatment. The club allowed everyone else who wants to leave to do so but refuse to let Schneiderlin do the same

I don't think that's really the issue as he is their player so they are well within their right to make that decision.

The crap bit seems to be that they told him he could go, and now they've reneged on that (allegedly).

We'll get him though. I'm confident.

They have allowed everyone else to leave for a big wedge. We don't know how much we've offered and who's to say they won't do the same for him if we offer similar amounts?

Yeah obviously a lot depends on Kaboul's fitness, but even then we'd have Velkjovic as well.

But even if we decide to let Chiriches go instead of Dawson, and Kaboul is injured, I'd hardly call that a clusterfuck as there won't be many teams with a better 4th choice centre back than Dawson.

The Saints fans all fucking hate Schneiderlin, yet they want him to stay.

What the actual fuck?

Yeah not clusterfuck but if Poch doesn't feel Daws will work in his system then it's pretty pointless him being at club. Between them our defence missed something like 100 games last season. Never know we might be lucky with injuries but seeing as EL is huge this year I think it'd be wiser (if Kaboul stays) to have another along with a Dier.

They held our for big bucks with Liverpool especially who had the Suarez money. Shaw is the brightest prospect in English football and I can understand United paying up.
But MS is a virtual unknown who is not even a regular international and they want £15 mill? Not likely.
Chiriches may give a little wiggle room and help face saving. I can't see Levy budging much from the £10 mill opening bid.

I would assume though that as they are actively trying to find moves for a number of players and Vlad is te only one they can move on then they will have to just get in with it. If they need space they need space
